Is curcumin safe for my grandma?

My grandma is north of 85 years old, has type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure, and pretty bad arthritis in her knees, and joints. She's had one knee replaced as well.

I've thought of getting her some curcumin for it's anti-inflammatory properties, as well as the various other health benefits.

Wondering if it's safe to do so? Can't see any reason why not...if it helps ease her pain, it's far better than cortisone shots

I send curcumin to my 79 year old grandma and she loves it. Really helps with her arthritis.

Cumin is widely used in Asian cuisine. Especially Indian dishes like curry. You can send her the spice to try on her food provided she won't mind the taste and smell :)

Perfectly safe for her

When in doubt start with a smaller dose and work your way up.

Cumin and curcumin are different things, different spices.

I had my mom on this as part of her chemo sup protocol , and wouldn't recommend it to her if there were any risks involved.

Yes. Cumin is also used in middle eastern cooking....but most people associate it with Mexican/Spanish cuisine. Curcumin comes from turmeric. Much different

I wish my grandma would take curcumin but she gets angry when I tell her that her doctor isn't always right.
