Is Greek Yogurt a good source of protein ?

I use it to make some tasty shakes :D but yah I get the ones that have the 0 on um instead of the 2.
 
Great drink my breakfast lately:
1 scoop hydrowhey or isolate no flavor
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup organic cranberry juice(not concentrate)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 scoop superfood supergreens
Liquid multi
Splenda
Ice and water
 
luv it... I get tha 0% plain and cut up my own fruit to add in...just had bout 2.5 cups yogurt with 1/2 a cantalope cut up, and a shot of evoo chased w my coffee lol
 
I put it on my meat...

anyone here hungarian/german? We put sour cream in some dishes that are made with red savory sauces...

I put the greek yogurt in place of the sour cream, its DELICIOUS!

gotta have the right recipes though, I wouldnt lop it on a grilled chicken breast lol
 
My wife's mom is from Austria and she loves Sour Cream on a lot of shit lol
 
Greek yogurt is so versatile. I have put it on meat before, it's pretty good. I also mix it with fruit and love adding protein powder and/or peanut butter to it. I personally like it sweet but I buy the plain ones. I've taken some informal surveys and most people say the Fage brand is best...it's thicker and better texture than Chobani, and I have to agree.
 
Have a farm up the road that does low fat greek yoghurt plain, usually have a cup of that 1 cup fat free cottage cheese and a scoop whey, blend it up have half at bed time and half when i wake up for the toilet round 1 am. Love it, thats all the dairy i have daily
 
I eat a large plain 0% Fage every night. Love the stuff. The parchment paper makes it much less watery then other Greek yogurts.

Love greek yogurt!!

I like to use it as part of my last meal of the day before bed.
 
I don't know why I didn't try greek yogurt before.

Now I'm eating it twice a day with peanut butter and fresh pineapples.
 
my prebed meal is usually 1c of nonfat vanilla greek ( it local store brand so is way cheaper than commercial brands) and 1c cottage cheese with a dallop of pb.. sometimes slice a banana for the mix but either way dose great for my recovery and it sticks to my ribs nice and good to keep me asleep for the night with no mid sleep munchies maybe just waking to take a pee usually... since greek is another form of milk protein its def a legit source for protein... I can tell on the days I lift and dont eat eat my mix before bed cuz the next day have more soreness than usual so if I skip it a night its usually on my rest days if anything but usually is a 7 day a wk meal for me lol
 
I eat 2-3 containers a day of it, I get the "Greek Gods" Honey Strawberry flavor. It's got 930 calories per container 45grams of fat, 24grams of protein, 108grams of carbs. Sugar is a little high but it doesn't seem to bother me.

You guys are crazy! I've never seen greek yogart that isn't packed with sugar. Even like 10g of sugar is way too much for me. I'd never stay in six-pack shape if I was eating yogart regularly, let alone greek yogart!
 
Yes plain greek yogurt is a great source of protein. Great amino profile, great bioavailability. Just dont buy ones full of crap.

Just remember the bloat it can cause and stop eating it 8 weeks out from target date.
