Hello,

I was wondering is the finger prick blood test accurate enough to determine all the important health markers that steroid users need to know?

I know phlebotomy/venous blood samples are the gold standard.

Some say it is pointless and others disagree. Am I wasting my money if I can't do the gold standard?

Please share your experiences and your opinion on this matter?

The standard FSBS test is designed for accurate blood sugar measurements. Not enough blood to measure all of the health parameters listed in the above two columns - contrary to what Elizabeth Holmes thinks. Hahaha!!!

So those Let's Get Checked test kits are just rubbish for that reason? Those are pretty expensive for tests that may not be accurate due to how little blood is sampled.

For all intents and purposes...yes. Btw, what's the name of the kit?

I always wondered if Holmes didn't get railroaded....aka her shit DID work but the establishment making millions off blood draws and expensive tests wouldn't allow the change.

I figured with those finger prick tests would at least give you a ballpark result at least. To get as good as result as the regular blood draws, there would be a need for more sensitive machines for processing such tiny blood samples.

Maybe in the year 3000...but not with today's currently available medical technology.

Ask Elizabeth Holmes.

Ask Elizabeth Holmes.

That scamming lying b*tch should have been sentenced for 10+ years for the crap she pulled. Anyone who knew anything about analytical chemistry and human biochemistry in the medical field knew she was full of sh*t.

There is not a lot of research in the past 2-3 years on the effecacy of these when a novice is collecting them (the tests themselves are accurate). But from the research that is out there, as long as the samples are collected properly, and the samples are sent to a laboratory, the results are fairly reliable.

However, I would caution you to ensure you are using a reputable at-home test maker (I wouldn't use the generic one from CVS.) And with that, I don't know how much you would save. One at-home lab that I know people use is Everly, but in my past looking at their prices, I could get it much cheaper by going to a traditional lab. Although this obviously depends on where you are at, but I believe from a past thread that you are US based, so you should have fairly similar options to me.

I used to test my blood sugar using one would always be over 100. Thought I had diabetes. Cut calories, carbs, metformin, still came back high fasted. I'd get 120, then 95 2 seconds later sometimes. Tried different meters that were supposed accurate based on rankings.

Doctor bloodwork always said my glucose was fine though. A1c is actually low out of range. So from my experience they aren't very accurate.
