Well , yes and no.
If it prevents you from losing control and over eating them absolutely , but just a shake is not a "meal" you need to add some carbs and fat to it depending on your Macro needs , 2 scoops of whey , half cup oats and a tablespoon of peanutbutter would be a meal replacement and you can add all that in your shake..
When my calories are cut way back it is easy for me to do the same thing when I eat so what I do about 5 min before eating is drink as much water as I can , I'll try to down a full liter. This will help to make it physically impossible to over eat without being way uncomfortable.
If i were you and was planning to use a shake as a meal replacement I would get a protein blen like "Team Skip" from true protein.com or at the very least add a scoop of casine to your shake. The slower digesting protein will keep you full longer that just whey alon
