Is it time for HRT,or should I wait?The cream or test shots?

Ok,as I said in my other post,I have fully recovered from my liver surgery.The doctor finds me in great shape,my cat scans are perfect,my blood tests consistently come back fine.All my liver values,my cholesterol etc. is perfect.

The doctor has been testing my Testosterone,FSH,and LH for over 3 months now.All three are consistently very low.Last test from a week ago said(I do not have it in front of me) Testosterone is around 166,LH is below normal something like 1.1,and FSH was normal about 2.2 if I remember correctly.

Last month I was on HMG,HCG,and clomid.My balls were hanging again and I felt somewhat "normal".

I decided that the HMG was way too expensive and that HCG was just desensitizing my boys.So the doctor has me on clomid at 150mg a day.

Im not back to normal at all now,I have no sex drive,I need viagra to perform at all.Im actually getting strong in the gym and I am at 240 lbs right now,but Im soft and am carrying some belly fat.Pumps in the gym are awesome but that FIRE is still missing.

Doctor gave me 3 options....
1)keep taking the clomid and he would prescribe GH for me just to get me going physique wise and overall well being without giving me synthetic testosterone and hope that eventually get back to normal,
2)go back on HMG and HCG for over a year(this will send a false signal to produce test and sperm,not actually solving the problem,plus the cost is prohibitive unless I go undergroud sources which I will not do again)
3)Get a prescription for test,either cream or I guess test shots 200mg once a week.

I never wanted to go on juice again,but HRT doses will not harm me,I just don't know if I should.I am totally not myself,my fiance loves me but I am not giving her enough sex thats for sure,and I jsu don't have the energy I used to have.

What the hell would you do?My only concern at this point is to have kids in about 2 years or so.Will HRT doses destroy my ability to have kids in the future if I havent already destroyed it with years of abuse?

I don't know Baldnazzi. I wasn't here when you had all your trouble and so I've never really gotten to know you outside of some of the old threads I've read. I know what your saying about the depression and the sex drive. In an old post that Phil wrote on here he said that the shot was better than the creme he thought. Has it been 6 mo's or longer since you've been off everything? It could take up to a year for you. I think its something to talk over with your doctor. He will probably have reservations due to your history, but I don't see what would be wrong with it as long as your are just getting your values back to a normal level. Then again, he may want to give your body more time to recover and see if it can make more test on its own. Your still fairly young aren't you? Low 30's?
Sorry. Missed the last part of your email where he gave you 3 options. Yes. Choose the 3rd option. You will feel a WHOLE lot better, but you have to ask that since your supplementing with test will this keep you shut down longer. I don't know the answer to that, but I do know you will feel like a different person all together.

Well, in your situation, if it was me, I'd do option 1. It's gonna take a good while for your endocrine system to get back to normal, which I'm sure you know. But, if you DO decide to do the test replacement therapy (option3), then of course, your natural test production will never be normal, which is fine if you don't ever plan on having kids. During the mean time, the lack of sex could be a problem with option 1. Or, you could just tell her that you think you should both wait to have sex until after the wedding. That would be a convenient excuse. I geuss it really comes down to what you want the result to be. Do you want a REAL recovery in your bodies natural functions, the price of which will be a temporary sacrifice in size, strenth and sexual performance? Or, do you want to do the test replacement which will get everything rolling much sooner, but inhibit any chance at real recovery of the endocrine system?

In my opinion though, option 2 sounds like the worst idea.

Hey BN, Glad to hear you are on the rise again. I was going to ask age but I see LM got there first. It is a tough one. I'll give you my take for what it's worth. I'm 48 and I'm positive I need hrt for now and forever. I'm going to use inj. for this. The low sex drive sucks. I mean what's the point of carrying around a good body if you can't enjoy it right? But for you it is not only a matter of self esteem you are looking into your future. You will need to have a sperm count done on regular intervals to find out if you can get your better half pregnant. If you go hrt I'm not sure how this is going to affect sperm count. As much as I know about hrt/test therapy I was lead to believe that exogenous test will lower sperm counts and ejaculate volume. Now this may have only been for higher amounts, amounts above recommended doses for hrt. But I mean I believe they are using test as a male birth control. Why? as I stated earlier, it lowers sperm count. These are some of the unfortunate sides to what we do. I wish that some of the youger guys here would listen to some of the elders here (no offense to anyone) as to the longer term effects of aas use. When I was 18-21 I did'nt want to hear about it either. I'm not here to preach to you or anyone else, but like the rest of us I'm here to learn. You do have a tough one on your hands and I'm sure someone more qualified will chime in on this. Most of all BN you have got your health back and that is what is so very important right now. Its all up to you bro. I say, if you don't plan on having kids, mine as well go on HRT. Why not have maximum test levels all the time, while still being in the safe range? Sounds like a win win situation.

I have not been on ANYTHING since April 2006 when my liver got destroyed.Its taking a long ass time to recover my HPTA ,as someone said in another post,I may be permanently fucked.

My main concern is sex drive and feeling like a man in general.My test level is 166 for God's sake!!But if I screw myself from having kids in a couple years then I don't give a shit about test levels,I will live with it.Id rather have kids then more test in my veins as of now.

Thanks for your responses.Oldfella,health is priority #1 right now,marriage and kids is priority #1A,test levels are an afterthought if the first 2 things are affected.

Hey BN, I agree. Health #1, wife and kids, right there with number 1. I think the wait and see option is the one for you! Work with your doctor and try to get your levels back to normal. I hate to be the devil's advocate here but you may have to live with the fact that you may not be able to have kids. Man I hope not for your sake! It sounds like you really want them and I'm sure you will do whatever it takes to do this. As said above you need to mentally prepare for the worst. If it turns out any other way then you are way ahead. Good luck bro!! Keep us posted.

I'd say to give the PCT some more time. It may take 12-18 months for your nuts to fully recover given all of the things you've been thru in the last year.

Have you checked the sperm count? One option might be to freeze sperm "just in case" when the sperm count is good, then go on HRT.

Didn't Doggcrapp say recently that every guy he has seen take HMG got their GF pregnant?

BTW, isn't test contraindicated in cases where there have been previous liver tumors? I think that's what it says in the PDR.

hey BN, I gotta say I really respect you wanting to make the right decision. Its a tough call. If I were 31, I'd give the PCT more time and see how those test levels trend over time. I'd say, the higher you can get those on your own, the better. But It may take even more time. When you start the HRT, you will feel much better in a few days, but your body will be very happy with the new normal test readings and your own production will cease at that level. Keep in mind its a lifelong commitment at that point, just as taking insulin is to a diabetic, or taking thyroid medication is to someone with low thyroid. I was in my late 40's when I started my HRT from my doc, so it was a no brainer for me + I have kids already. If you do decide on the HRT now, I wouldn't think it would alter your sperm count that much, but I would consult my doctor on that. All it takes is one happy swimmer at the right time to change your life, forever. I am sure your fiance will support you no matter what you decide. Sounds like she loves the whole package that we know as BN here.

Glad you are doing well. I'd stick out the pct for as long as it takes-can be $$ though. My T was alittle low so i went the hormone replacement route(Androgel). I have to rub this cold ass gel on the inside of the arms and legs ever freakin day-gets old fast... My energy levels are up slightly(maybe) but my diet has improved as well so it's really debatable. Sex drive is just OK--about the same as before therapy. Nothing like doing juice at all. Stength is the same, pump is the same, no weight gain either(wasn't expecting it to be). IMO, total hype. Been 4 months now, next blood test I'm going to talk to the doc and probably drop it if he can't help. Getting older sucks but other than the T I'm healthy--could be worse...

as for hrt get the shot bro the cream is a fucking pain in the ass and it doesn't work as well as the shots.my pops had it for a while then he went to 1cc enanthate a week.he said you have to be careful because women can't touch you for 2 hour or they absorb to test and it's everyday,he hats needles but he said the cream sucks.

Same problem here. ill you doc even give you 200mg inj EW. Mine will only do it EOW. I feel great for a week then the in between weeks feel like crap. I also am on clomid 100mg ed which doe snot do anything.

I was taking a inj formula by ALRI Formestane,Phosphatidylserine, 7-keto DHEA and was feeling prety good and ran out and tey dont make it anymore.

I would go with the gel daily over inj, but add a little HCG EW. I would try the HCG, HMG and Clomid a little longer fisrt though.

What has the doctor said about normal recovery from this type of tough surgery.For example I have known people to just have hernia or appendix operations they lost the ability to perform till they recovered .Maybe it is just the natural course of these types of things and recovering will speed up in time.

I used that as well dragonfire101. That formestane was awesome. Shots hurt like hell and I had to reheat the bottle a lot to get particles dissolved but it really helped with recovery.

Don't know much about the topic in question, but a friend of mine who is a general practioner MD thinks you should give the Clomid a try for at least 6 months and then see how your levels are. I have appointments next month lined up. The doc wants me in the low end of test levels around 300. I feel I should be up at around at least 600. I am not even 30. Maybe 300 would be fine if i was 70.
