In humans with a recent heart attack an ace inhibitor is prescribed to decrease mortality and morbidity... Its shown to improve ejection fraction and reduce hypertrophy for systolic heart failure(what LVH causes) Knowing that it improves an already failing heart through this pathway we must conclude that it also prevents such damage to an extent.
