is there any benefit?

i belong to a bunch of boards just like plenty of you here at PM, i don't post at a lot of places i like to read and research mostly. what im wondering is there any benefit to actually paying to be on a board? lets take hypermuscle.com for example, has anyone ever actually paid for that site to see what it has to offer? i find it hard to beleive that they are holding on to better sources privately then can be found here and there. when i was stationed in germany i just discovered the bby boards and i did pay to be a elite member for like 3 months and i didn't find it to be any better then an open forum.....
