Yes, it can put a lot of pressure of the sacroiliac joint but so can a deep split squat. Like Phil said a SLDL can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Many people don't slightly bend their knees (at heavier loads) nor do they maintain a neutral spine (or arched if mainly concerned with hitting the hamstrings and low back).
