A doctor at King Abdul Aziz Hospital told Arab News: “Steroids are used in the medical profession for different reasons but mostly to suppress a patient’s immune system so that the patient does not feel the pain that occurs with inflammations such as rheumatoid arthritis. Steroids are also used locally with asthma patients. The problem with this course of treatment is that the patient’s body becomes unable to fight bacterial infections.

Is there any truth to these statements? By the way he was speaking on Deca.

I think you are mistaken and this statement is referring to corticosteroids like prednisone or cortisone. These are potent anti-inflammatories and are used to treat conditions such as RA and asthma. Since inflammation is an important initiator of the immune response, it follows that the immune sytem would be suppressed in the presence of these hormones. Why do you think you get sick if you overtrain?

thats right im finishing a week of prednisone for chest conjestion and inflammation. my knees felt good tho

4 clearing that up. That was taken from the news article of this thread. I was like WTF?!?

http://www.professionalmuscle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44249

I read that article. I find it a little funny, but also embarassing, that someone in the medical profession does not know the difference between corticosteroids and anabolic/androgenic steroids like Deca. That doctor they interviewed needs a refresher course in basic pharmacology.
