I KEEP GETTING HURT. I DO A 1O MIN. WARM UP ON THE TREADMILL SOME LIGHT SETS OF 20 REPS WITH JUST 135LBS THEN 225 275 320..365LBS..WORKING MY WAY UP TO WORK SETS WITH 4PLATES...AT 365 ON MY 5TH REP BANG...DEEP TWINGE...POPPING SOUND/FEEL ...LIKE A REAL LOW GROIN PULL ONLY WAY DOWN ON THE INSIDE OF MY KNEE. I'VE BEEN LIMPING AROUND FOR 3 DAYS. I FIGURED OUT IT WAS THE SARTORIOUS...JUST A BAD PULL, NOT A TEAR, BUT IT PISSES ME OFF.

I KNOW, I KNOW...SO DO YOUR SQUATS AT NIGHT. I AM JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS TROUBLE INCURRING BITCHY LITTLE INJURIES WHEN TRAINING IN THE MORNING?

I AM JUST SHARING THE PAIN! LOL....
 
thats sucks man, I have a 2 slipped disk, and a curved spine, after 1 year of the chiropractor I feel even worse. I haven't been able to put more then 225 on the squat for the past 3 years, even leg presses kill me, and I cannot jog or tredmile. I would see a specialist if you have insurance get checked out, I know time is not a solution when it comes to back problems a lot of times. unfortantly nothing I've tried has ever fixed me but I know thats not the case for everyone, get better man, give the squats a rest if they aren't letting you heal.
 
I could never do squats in the morning....I'm not a morning person...the squat rack would put me through the ground if i did it in the morning lol
 
Take a rest for your legs for about 21 days to tataly recuperation of the tear, it is the best you can do to avoid a serious injury.
I happends to me about 4 times in my life.
 
I Personal Train clients in the early morning. Im so stiff and immobile that just
loading and unloading plates from bars and machines hurts and is hard.
I used to workout (2yrs) at 6am, but I was 25 then. ;)
 
You are a nut to squat in the AM lol. I love my leg workouts so id never wanna feel half assed energy for them. I like doing them when im energized and ready to give it all i got. How can you do that if you just woke up a few hours earlier? Your not gonna have ur full potential, but your gonna try to match ur regular weights anyway, hence bigger chance of injury. Dont squat in the morning man, my rule is i wont squat until iv had 2 carb meals in me during the day, so i know im full of energy and fuel.

Also be damn careful squattin, one of Vanders friends hurt himself like 3 weeks ago squatting REALLY BAD and has like 3 grade 3 tears in each leg. Now hes not gonna be able to squat SHIT for over a year and probably never squat what he used to ever again. You only get one body, take care of it, you can "shoulda woulda coulda" all you want, but once its fucked u aint gettin it back.
 
I tore my left leg in 5 different places about 7 years ago. I went from 135 straight to 405. I started going down and it sounded like popcorn. The rack saved me from killing myself luckily, but that was the worst pain I've ever had. It was even worse than sawing off my hand. Sawing off my hand was harder to recover from though. :rolleyes: The moral of this story is, warmup for squats and never hold one hand right behind a circular saw when cutting wood.

As for squatting in the morning. I couldn't tell ya. I can't do anything in the morning. I don't even get out of bed in the morning. I wait until morning has passed. Mornings are bad, very bad.

YOU GUYS WOULD ALL BE SICK OF ME EVERY MORNING. I WAKE UP AT 5:30 EVERY DAY. REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS GOING ON. I AM WOUND UP FIRST THING. IF I AM NOT LIFTING THAT DAY....I CLEAN THE HOUSE. I SMILE AND TALK A LOT AND NO ONE IS AWAKE TO ENJOY MY ENTHUSIASM! HAHAHA..I ACTUALLY AM FIRED UP AS HELL TO LIFT AND IT BUGS ME TO HAVE TO WAIT..SIT AROUND EAT ALL DAY THEN FINALLY GET GOING! I AM GOING TO HAVE TO DO IT THOUGH OR ....LIKE MOST OF YOU ARE SAYING END UP WITH A BAD INJURY. MOST OF THE TIME I GO FOR A LONG WALK IN THE MORNINGS...IT'S PRETTY WHERE I LIVE.. LEG DAYS I DON'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE I WANT MY LEGS TO BE FRESH TO LIFT. THING IS.....I FEEL STRONG IN THE MORNING....I FEEL ALIVE....BUT THAT MUST BE MY BRAIN...BECAUSE MY TENDONS ETC....DON'T SEEM TO SHARE THAT FEELING!
 
Man, I really wish I was a morning person. I'd love to be able to feel alive in the morning. Instead though, if I have to be up, I'm bitchy, depressed, tired and not too much fun to be around.

Also, if I ever got the chance I would LOVE to live in Montana. You are a lucky guy. It's so beautiful there and you don't have to simmer in a pool of your own sweat year round like you do here in South Texas. Plus I read that Montana has the least population per square mile than any other state except maybe for Alaska. Alaska is a little TOO chilly, so Montana would be perfect. I don't like a lot of people all up in my grill. :p
 
i guess i'm the only one with sucess...

been doing them again after 3yr layoff.. we do them at 7am in am ..one thing that does work though is i do a 100 rep set of extensions first..i'm doing my high rep scheme for the next 3 months..[ 30, 20 20 , 10] last we was first week 225-30 [ too light] 315 -30 , 365-22. 405 -15..][goal will be to get back up to 600 for 10-15..]
i have pulled my innner thgih several times.. such a bitch bas. i take off a week then get a good massage ot get knot out and then i'm good to go ...

Is when I start my workouts. Been doing it since around 1984. My body is wore out by the evening :p It took a while to get adjusted in the beginning, but is a great way to begin the day. ;)

I learned this from Bill Pearl - it'e the time when your natural test is at its peak!
 
I'm deff. not a morning person...and when I know I have to get up to go to work instead of doing something fun just adds to the pissed off mood. lol But it still wasn't as bad as when I had to wake up and go to school to sit in a fucking gay class that had nothing to do with my major. That really pissed me off.
 
Well since everyone else said to stretch, Ill say it again....STRETCH them legs.

Yeah, it was a couple of years ago when I was doing construction for a living. I was cutting a short piece of 1x12 with a circular saw. It needed to be cut at an awkward angle. I was holding the board on one end with my right hand. I was holding the saw, cutting the weird angle with my left hand. The sawblade got kind of kinked up in the angle and the saw jumped back on my right hand. The gaurd on the saw was tied back because of the angle I was cutting. The saw hit me on the back of the right hand. It cut me straight across from the pinky knuckle to the thumb knuckle. When the saw hit, bones and blood splattered all over my face. I wiped the shit off my face and looked down at my hand. It wasn't cut completely off, but it was dangling and flopping around by the skin on my palm. It went through all the bones and severed all the tendons. To top it off the board was covered in sheep shit, so I got to have that floating around in my blood stream. :D I was way out in the country and had to go to the emergency room. I had a four hour surgery to put it all back together, a three day hospital stay, LOTS of antibiotics, and several months of physical therapy. I quit the therapy a lot sooner than I was supposed to because that shit was EXPENSIVE and I didn't have insurance. Anyway, now it's as strong as it ever was. It's still pretty screwed up to look at, but it works fine, except I don't have a pinky knuckle anymore. There was nothing they could do to fix that.

I SWEAT ALL THE TIME TOO....I CAN'T STAND BEING TOO WARM. BETTER GET HERE BEFORE ALL THE ASSHOLES DO....PEOPLE ARE MOVING HERE TO GET AWAY FROM ALL THE ....[WELL LET'S JUST SAY..CITY DWELLERS...LOL] I HAVE ELBOW ROOM HERE. EVERY MORNING I STEP OUTSIDE AND ABLE TO HAVE A PRIVATE BLADDER RELIEF IN NATURAL SURROUNDINGS...NO ONE AROUND...JUST ME AND THE DEER. I'LL TELL YOU WHAT....THOSE BASTARDS ARE FUNNY. THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS SLEEPING OUT IN THE CAMPER WITH THE WINDOWS CRACKED OPEN A LITTLE..ABOUT 2AM...I HEARD THIS SOUND SLURPING, SUCKING SOUND...I THOUGHT WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? I PEAKED OUT THE WINDOW AND IT WAS 2 DEER...JUST UNDER THE WINDOW IN THE LAWN...HOGGING DOWN ON GRASS! SHIT THEY SOUND JUST LIKE HOGS.....JUST SNUFFLING AND IN GENERAL NOT SOUNDING LIKE DELICATE, GRACEFUL ANIMALS. PRETTY FUNNY....AT LEAST TO ME.

I WILL TRY TO LISTEN AND NOT TRAIN. I AM AFRAID MY LEGS WILL GET SMALL. THEY ARE SURE TO GET SMALL IF I REALLY INJURE THEM....SO I WILL TAKE THE TIME OFF.

KEYS TO THE INNER UNIVERSE...A GREAT READ! I TAKE A NAP AROUND 4:00 PM EACH DAY...AND TRAIN AROUND 7PM...NORMALLY.....I LIKE THE MORNINGS THE BEST THOUGH...IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE ALREADY DONE MORE THAN MOST PEOPLE HAVE ALL DAY!

NO MORE ON LEG DAY THOUGH.....I CAN'T SEEM TO HANDLE IT ANYMORE.

SO WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING IS WORKING........THOSE ARE SOME GREAT LIFTS...BEST I HAVE EVER DONE WAS 500LBS FOR SEVEN GOOD REPS.,,,AND I WAS AROUND 275 LBS AT THE TIME. I GUESS THAT'S WHY YOU ARE A PRO!

....THAT I HEAD IN THERE AND GET BUSY! I ACTUALLY ENJOY TRAINING LEGS HARD....I MUST HAVE A HIGHER CORE TEMPERATURE LATER IN THE DAY. I RARELY GET DINGED IN THE EVENING TRAINING SESSIONS [WHEN I NORMALLY TRAIN]....I SURE AS HELL DON'T WANT TO END UP RUINED.
