Nothing inspires me more than guys
pushing (or pulling) huge poundages!

You know actually everyone does this
(hopefully) in the gym with their training partners.
Pull for each other, but inspire each other to
get stronger, lift more. You dont even have to verbally
say it between partners-you are always trying to keep up
or top each other in a healthy, challenging way.
I love training with the strongest guy(s) in the gym.
You cant stay stagnant!

I am training with Steve Goggins, one of the best powerlifter EVER!! He used to train with Ronnie Coleman when he was stationed in Texas. He got Ronnie, Jonnie and Branch warren started into powerlifting. I told him about the challenge and steve just laughed. Said ronnie would SMOKE JJ... no question about it. Johnnie has pulled 810 in comp at 220, and most recently 804 at 244lbs. Ronnie has doubled 800 6 weeks out from a meet, yes with straps, but Steve said grip is not nor has it ever been a problem for ronnie. He said he is good for at least an 840 or more DL! Squat, jonnie has done 826 but that was in 2002 at his WPO qualifier, ronnie is good for over 9 with a suit. Bench JJ did 525, we have all seen ronnie do 200lb db for sets of 12 reps. in a shirt he would be good for over 600!

And as far as pound for pound, JJ said st8 up, no comparing bodywgt. the pound for pound arguement is as bad the asthectics v size argument in the powerlifting world.

i dont think ronnie can get hurt, 800 for 2 in the squat and 805 x 2 in the dead pre-contest as well

it would be awesome to see though, maybe in the offseason or something...

That is a cool message to put out there. I think Ronnie will talk about it a little bit, but wouldn't really follow thru with the challenge.
Would be great to see though.
