Jardiance - Empagliflozin SGLT-2 inhibitor

really looking at this sglt for heart health and kidney protection. Has anyone used this was wander about taking Lantus with it? Lantus really feels me out woried combing it with Lantus will lower my Blood sugar to low and not be able to keep up with doing both together.

I've been on it for over two years now. I have done 5mg per week and now I do 10mg every two weeks. I don't get any side effects or anything. I can't say I notice anything but I wouldnt expect to. When it comes to re-purposed drugs with the purpose of extending lifespan, it's very hard to "notice something." You just hope to age more slowly.

I'd go with 5mg per week. Any less would probably be too low IMO.

Me. 12.5mg/day. Except on my 2 high carb days a week. Then I use some Log on those days.

Are most folks taking this medication with a doctor's script, or self-administering?

I'm just wondering why people take this med when medically (in theory) it's not needed.

There's also the usual suspect of side-effects that come with this drug

No.

I asked my Dr online but I think his nurse responded because she said "just continue taking my diabetes meds". LOL I will ask them to script it to me at my physical next fall. In the meantime, I've just been sourcing it online.
