What would the types of jobs that a bodybuilder could get that wouldn't interfere with his eating times? Any suggestions? Also take into consideration of only having a HS degree, and no particular special training. Just looking for some good ideas.

I've worked in inbound call centers for cellphones and credit card companies......breaks and lunches are spread out evenly and most companies don't want you to overstress yourself so you can keep quality up......depending on your area you should make between 12-20$/hour.........

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to come off like an asshole but you need to rethink your question. Instead of asking what kind kind of job you can get as a bodybuilder, ask what kind of job you can get with your education, experience and training. You mentioned that you only have a high school education. I would stongly suggest that you try to take some college classes and earn a degree from an accredited college or university. The more education you can get, the more opprtunity you have in landing your dream job. If thats not possible right now, focus on things that interest you and that you're good at. After doing that, ask yourself are these careers that you can land considering your current level of education. Many jobs will offer the ability to train and eat on a regular basis, but, are those jobs you're qualified for and, will they pay the bills. I truly believe that a solid education will open doors and provide you much more opprtunity than merely just trying to get by. Best of luck in you career search.

Very wise advice

Well, I am going to disagree a little. Not everyone coming out of college, has motivation in life. You can have a degree and still be lazy. I do believe in educating yourself, but without a positive, motivating life style and good old fashion hard work, you are not going anywhere. I am going to vent here, how many times, have I heard on these forumns, I can't afford it. Well, work HARDER, and then you will suceed. By the way Jim, I started a few businesses, and did real estate investments(when the market was good) all with only a high school diploma. Just like BB, put your hard work into, set goals, and be positive at all times. Education is important though.;) THINK SUCESS AND THEN YOU WILL BE SUCESSFUL!!;)

In my opinion bodybuilding comes second to my job i have to provide for myself and family first

Very well said, I agree 100%. Many people with an education simply lack the motivation to do anything more than the absolute minimum.

Hmmm, let me think. I think this topic has been debated before - so, you want to have a job around your eating schedule? For what, so that maybe you can attend a show or two or look good on the beach?

It's all about balance. Only 1% make it, or whatever the number. Don't put your life on hold. Yes, you can still be a successful bb and hold a normal job. You just have to be creative with your meals, etc.

You know, you won't loose that pound of muscle if you miss your two hour meal. So you have it at 3 hours - not a big deal.

go with your dreams bro whatever your passion is do it

hustle on the side if you have to as long as ur happy

yes like above guy pointed out as long as you healthy snacking youre not catabolizing muscle also since you are on aas it renderest it near difficult

work at a resturant! i do, yes i have a degree but thats nto how i got to be a general manager. i got my job by starting at 13 yrs old working in a kitchen opening clams and cleaning crabs(and eating a few here and there). ive done every job in a resturant except for head chef. go apply to a privately owned resturant not a chain, look for work in the kitchen doing prep or pantry, usually the guys in the kitchen eat all day long. if you chose the front of the house be a server, itll be easy to eat all day. you just take a bite every chance you get. and shit if you live in south jersey i always need good people.

Very well Said! Not only do I agree 100% I would also like to add that if you work hard for what you have i.e. Education, money, etc. You will appreciate it much more.

Quick example: my wife's cousin went to Loyola Law school, his mom paid for it, to this day she pays for his apartment and even makes his car payment.

She threw him a huge party when he graduated law school, but... He can't seem to pass the bar!

My oldest brother, also went to Loyola, he worked while attending night school, paid for his own school, he didn't even go to his graduation, he graduated Magna Cumme Laude and passed the Bar on his first try.

We grew up poor, but all of us are pretty successful, the most successful is my youngest brother he's only 28 and only has a h.s. diploma, for years he worked his ass off up at 6am back home at 8pm then worked on his properties on weekends, started with one, now he has his own Building permit expediting business, a great office in downtown Chicago on N. LaSalle, 6 employees and owns about 20 properties.

I have a higher IQ, more education and went to great schools, but I would trade it all for his work ethic.

Back to the first point, the first response was also correct, I was obsessed with BB'ing when I was in my early 20's, I looked great, everyone told me that I had great genetics, I tore a pec, it put my life into perspective, I took some time off eventually 7 years, but now I have a good business, a design License and guess what?

The bodybuilding is still here, I'm in better shape then ever, sure I'm 34 now but It's like I never left.

Except now I have a family, I'm more laid back about things, I train hard, but it's not life or death now and I can afford better supplements and food.

I know firemen that work 2 24hr days and have 5 days off.... that kind of schedule is definitely condusive to bodybuilding....

that's what I do, love it!!! Only I work 24 on/48 off. But I have another gig as well I do p/t. Yes, I'm fortunate, but its still not as easy as you'd think. I go to work and have to leave one job in the morning and go straight to the other. Sometimes with little sleep if we were busy the night before. The cooler still goes with me to both jobs, and I still pack my food the night before (actually pack food for 2 days in a row alot) just as I would have to with any other job. Yes we have a kitchen and I can cook, but many of days meals become interrupted by calls, command staff meetings, pre-fire surveys, training drills, etc etc. The biggest advice I could give anybody, is make your bodybuilding conform to your job, dont make your job conform to bodybuilding. After all, it's called WORK for a reason

haha I helped a friend open a restaurant in South Jersey... La Campagnola in Shamong / Medford area. If you have ever heard of it, which I hope you have because it has been getting great reviews... either way if you ever need good help part time let me know.

Well all my friends who seriously bodybuild are personal trainers

Learn the ways of the portable cooler. I can eat a 3 course meal and not leave my desk. Problem is it's cold, but oh well. I get my cals in and I work and go to school.

Some go to college, military or around the right people. I chose military and it gave me the training I needed to come out with a great paying job that I love. To like to go to work is the most important thing to me. As far as schedule for training, I determine that not so much my job. I use to get so bent out of shape when I could not eat every few hours to where it over ran my life. I have since changed my habits of eating forcefully to when I am hungry. I snack more than anything bc I travel to sites constantly via truck.

Security

I was reading the Thursday paper when I saw an article that reminded me of this. The local concert centers are having their job fairs to fill the part time positions for the summer from May to September. The ticket takers, concessions, t-shirt sellers, ushers, parking attendants, and security of course.

The arts center in Holmdel, NJ will have their job fair Saturday the 18th from 11am to 3pm. The Jones Beach fair is May 2.

Are you looking for a "summer" type job or a career? Big difference.

For a summer type job, I'd tell you to go work at like UPS or something. Their unloaders/loaders work 4-5 hours a day and that's it. No more or it is dangerous (unloading 1500 packages a hour, no break). Bust your ass work but if you are hired permanently you get some bad ass benefits. My cousin has done it for about 6 years now.

A career......that's a tough one. A personal trainer would be cool. If I were looking to get big (as a customer), I'd seek out the biggest personal trainer I can find. He got that way somehow. That's just from a customer stand point.

Firefighter would seem to work well also. If you are in a small town like mine, you don't get a whole lot of action. I swear they maybe go on a call less than a dozen times a week. Mostly for little things like a fender bender, brush fire, etc.
