Watched the new one on fasting last night. I have never fasted for 24 hours and kind of chalked it up as a "gimmick" when I've heard about it previously over the years. I think there is some merit to eating Intermittent Fasted-style for some guys- not my cup of tea though.

I may give the 24 hour fast a try to help reset things and also just to prove to myself I'm not a total pussy.

For those that have done a 24 hour fast, what's the best way to break it? I'm assuming pigging out at Bob Evans will result in shitting ones pants!
 
I feel like everyone here should watch the bloodwork video before asking a question about bloodwork. Too many people don't know what to get and put all their focus into HDL, which is wrong.

Very true. But if your HDL is close to zero that is not good :eek: Everything mentioned in that video are in range or low for me. My CRP is very low so that's a plus. Everything is good a part from my cholesterol but hopefully that has changed as I get tested soon.

The good thing is a good CRP makes low HDL less of an issue but obviously we all want high HDL regardless

It takes an effort to use a clove of garlic every day. Would a garlic supplement work, and if so which one is recommended?

I don't believe you get the same advantages. You want to actually break/chop the clove...wait a short time and eat it so you get the benefits of the chemical reaction that creates allicin.

For a garlic supplement, it still helps the heart and circulation but isn't quite the same. I take Kyolic Cardiovascular Formula 100.

I don't know if you've seen this but it shows systolic BP was reduced from using the Kyolic brand we use. Can't say it's going to be the same as eating an actual garlic glove though.
