Lesson Learned come in conditioned or don't come in at all. I emailed the promoter and asked for my money back a couple or few weeks before, then just decided to go though with it.

Places 9 out of 10 in Classic Physique D class. was tallest guy there from what I saw, out of 500 competitors of so. I was number 496. Unfortunately no comparisons as I did make top five.

Nicely done John. How long before this was it that you competed?

Lesson learned! Now use that for next year, come in dry, peeled and ready! My buddy Aaron Jeffory won his pro card in classic there this weekend. What a great show!

did you even diet for the show...????

I mean.....you are just now learning the "conditioning" lesson...???

I thought it is the ONLY rule....

At least some met some good people and know what it's going to take next time.

The biggest lesson to learn, and it's not directed just to you LTB,
is that the real truth is it's usually not that difficult to do a show
which is a National Qualifier........and place high enough to
qualify.

But that doesn't mean much.

A competitor who is actually ready to be competitive in a National Level
show is superior at his or her craft.

And quite often be approached by a judge for a encouraging conversation.

SOOOOO True...

have seen this for years, people get all excited that they "qualified for nationals," (although they're nowhere near ready), they pay all the money to train/travel/drugs/food, etc... get on stage, do 2 quarter turns then walk off the stage never to be seen again. that weekend....

I guess if money isn't an option and you just want to go for the "experience" you could do it, but that sure as shit isn't worth it to me.

props to you LTB for posting up pics and talking about your experience, especially with all the shit you've gotten here recently. You're a ballsy dude..

Last year I qualified for it beating out a guy for a top five spot in 2016 Knox Classic

I did , My carbs and fats were too high and I started competing in 2016 after a four year break, and now the goal is to stay leaner as in something like this year round. Yes after five preps its taking me this long. I can be a slow learner at something; however when i get something I blow people away, once I truley get it

Thank you everyone.

I don't compete or diet down for shows so I have no room for judgement on this one, but I just have to ask - what do you think went wrong? I'm assuming that, like most competitors, you had a plan in regards to being 12-16 weeks out, roughly how you were going to treat dieting, training, drugs, etc. leading into the comp in a way that you thought would bring you in at 100%. Was it simply a fundamental miscalculation of how much time you would need from the start, or did other factors prevent you from sticking to the regiment you thought you'd need?

Again, don't mean that in a judgemental way, I'm just assuming that when you pictured yourself competing on stage you had a much different idea of how your conditioning would look.

I didn't diet hard enough , I took the diet too casual from the get go in february, my carbs and fats were too high , especially carbs from the get go. Diet and staying leaner , eating less food , from last show. Yes, I pictured myself ripped with crispy clear ab definition, and a much smaller waist. Thank you and good analysis.

The good thing is you know where you went wrong and now know what you need to do to correct it. Good work, sir!

At least you came clean and admitted it was too easy. With time and hard ass work you can turn what you have into something.

I would win your class at the very minimum perhaps an overall before returning though. I have to admit those CP guys were pretty badass in the top 5 of each class.

I don't like being critical but,really.Im speachless

Go ahead man, you already said this much, if you were truly speechless, you wouldn't have said any thing, makes me wonder about you, now that its out there speak whats on your mind

I just wish I could have been around to smack the shit outta ya....

to say....."DUDE!!!!!.....YOU AINT FUCKIN READY FOR JRS BRO!!!!"

do you not have a mirror at your crib...????

the worst part is.....you DO have a classic structure...
and could actually be competitive in classic physique......
there is just a certain amount of suffering you must go through
that you haven't worked out yet.....maybe you will never be able to
suffer the way you would need to....don't know until you try it....

no time like the present....

another thing I have noticed lately, is.....the classic guys ARE BETTER
than the open guys.....just the way I see it....

Whole lot of truth here. Besides the op, I think a lot of people would benefit from reading this.

There's a world of difference between being one of the biggest/most shredded person amongst the gen pop you're around day to day and what you'll stand against on a national stage, even jrs.
