Is there any IFBB Member out there that holds anything near these titles?

1965 Jr. Mr. Europe (Germany)
1966 Best Built Man of Europe (Germany)
1966 Mr. Europe (Germany)
1966 International Powerlifting Championship (Germany)
1967 NABBA Mr. Universe, amateur (London)
1968 NABBA Mr. Universe, professional (London)
1968 German Powerlifting Championship
1968 IFBB Mr. International (Mexico)
1969 IFBB Mr. Universe, amateur (New York)
1969 NABBA Mr. Universe, professional (London)
1970 NABBA Mr. Universe, professional (London)
1970 Mr. World (Columbus, Ohio)
1970 IFBB Mr. Qlympia (New York)
1971 IFBB Mr. Olympia (Paris)
1972 IFBB Mr. Olympia (Essen, Germany)
1973 IFBB Mr. Olympia (New York)
1974 IFBB Mr. Olympia (New York)
1975 IFBB Mr. Olympia (Pretoria, South Africa)

I am finding, through reading, alot of members on this forum can agree, while there are new methods to everything to help performance and growth respect your elders and listen to what they say, we all may learn from "old school" dieting and technique.

These are all owned by the best....Arnold himself!

with the exception of the 7 olympia wins there are many pros who have very long and impressive competition resumes!

I think everyone can be inspired by arnolds drive and determination. but obviously bodybuilding has evolved a great deal since arnolds times which, along with the changes in drug cycles, training and nutrition is exactly why bodybuilders look the way they do now. That's my opinion.

If I were going to truly try to be competitive in bodybuilding I would have to be able to hang with the freaks in the IFBB.............I don't think the old school training and dieting would get me there.

with that said. I far prefer the look of the bodybuilders from arnolds era than those of today's

Johnnie

If your interested in the way bodybuilders did things back then ........definately look into getting vince gironda's The wild Physique, and frank zane's Mind body and spirit(training journal).....if you haven't read these already they are awesome!

I will look those up! I just came across a PDF Book, Arnold:The Education of a Bodybuilder from a 1977 copyright. I have always been interested in the ERA in which I grew because it is where I learned the little I know now. Weider, Arnold, Hanley, Platz, Zane, ect.

Although the changes to the "new age" I like to read back in those times, see today's times and compare with what is still around...like eating a whole chicken for protein! Seems like all the excerises are still tried and true with little tweaks here and there. But it was these guys that we all, I am 40, looked upto for advice and articles and tips.

Thanks again!

What's the point?

Bodybuilding hasn't changed much.
If you want to achieve that look, simply don't include HGH or insulin in your regimen.

As much as anyone thinks differently, training and eating didn't really change a lot in the past decades.

I agree, there are plenty of pros that have impressive resumes. I love Arnold and his accomplishments.. But times have changed..and so have physiques.. Everyone wants the freaks now on stage.. Personally I like the way the older pros look..

I wish there training was better documented on video.
