Just got crushed by SPAM in my Safe-mail account!

My safe-mail account is strictly used for 'business'. The only people I've sent/received email from are admin at professionalmuscle.com and some of the sponsors on the board. That's it. No mas.

I've never received one spam since I opened the account until today. I logged in this morning and had 150 SPAM mails. WTF?!

Has this happened to anyone else recently? Is a sponsor selling our email addy's? Maybe we can find a common denominator. This really pisses me off since I will more than likely have to sift through and delete the SPAM from the legits every day. Argghhh!

Blame vbulletin. There are crawlers available that can crawl a vbulletin based board, like this one, and create a database of all the members emails. Then the crawlers owner can do whatever they want with it.

Only with the e-mail that we registered with right??? I mean if we register with say a yahoo account, the crawlers would have no access to any of our safe-mail addy's.

I sure hope it is not a board sponsor
