That is true, not that it applies to this situation thou.
I have apologized before just to be polite when people didn't really care. like if i wanna drunk and acting crazy but people thought i was fun, and it ends up to actually make them think I really did something wrong when originally they enjoyed my company. So point of my story is that I projected my low image of my self on to another.
Apologizing when you did something obviously wrong is different.
