I used to have a very nice shoulder to waist ratio. I dropped the belt completely over 2 years ago. My waist has gotten bigger for sure but there could be many reasons for this. I gotta say though when I bottom out on heavy squats w/o the belt my gut just wants to push out. I'm going back to the belt no matter what Poliquin says-LOL!
Alin, are you talking about having visible abs or keeping a small waist? im asking about keeping a small waist, i know that seeing abs is really only a matter of being lean enough...
i would really like to hear what phil has to say...if you see this would you please chime in?
eating more frequent, small, nutrient dense meals through out the day. I belive a belt while traing is good (all body parts) it keeps you from breathing out your gut on heavy sets. Also when you are sitting at work on the computer or watching t.v. you should concentrate on keeping the midsection tight and slightly tensed. all of these have helped me to keep a very tight midsectionwile putting on 30-40 lbs in the of season.

Well I think stretches for the OBs,,and just regular work to keep you lower and upper abs tight. Though I think the small waist , if your not fat,,lol it genetics. Of course it will grow with training just like every muscle in your body...just have to keep them hard and tight and try not to make the a direct effort for size. IMO

no prob, its funny you really dont realize how often you are just sitting there and letting your belly hang out, another thing I have done recently is getting a exersize ball to sit on at my desk at home, you kknow the ones they use to do ab exersizes on, it really helps to keep correct posture and the midsection tight , try it for a week you will be suprised.
