How important is keeping protein sealed. Does it have to always stay in a jug or can you keep it in ziplock bags? How about just in just a big salad bowl with some paper towels covering the top lol

I believe one of the largest concerns of keeping protein sealed is out of fear of attracting and holding moisture leading to clumping etc.

try to keep it sealed whenever possible

whey is quite prone to oxidation and moisture in the air will speed up the process
moisture will also cause bacteria to grow and destroy some of the protein leaving harmful byproducts.

Its usually hardly noticeable but sometimes it may make a slight difference, especially if you keep it open in a humid area.

my fear of not keeping it sealed is ANTS!!!!!!
I opened my bag of vanilla protein one morning and mixed/drank a shake only to notice it moving around when i went to seal it back up

Vadim is correct. Protein in Hydroscopic (Absorbs moisture from the air) We have had problems in the past with customers keeping large amounts of raw protein in their warehouse for too long in a humid environment and then complaining that it didn't mix as well in the formula. Keep it Sealed as it will also keep the flavor fresh longer.
