non-steroid related... I have kidney stones. has anyone else ever "passed" one of these stones, ive been awake for 2 days now in the worst pain of my entire life. i can actually feel the stoe near the base of my penis, this is so horrible feeling. does anyone know how long it usually takes for this to pass i cannot even and havent been able to keep a straight face for 2 days. any tips or experiences im curious about thanks bros.

thats terrible dave. is pissing it out the only way to pass it? no surgury? how long have you seen this comming? i hope it passes soon and you start feeling better

Most case scenarios Docs will opt for you to pass it. I work in a hospital in Radiology. One of my co-workers was a former Force Recon Marine, highly decorated. Had to pass a stone, said he was more painful then getting hit with shrapnel. Hopefully it'll be quick

my gf had to pass one about 3 months ago. Iam suprised that they dont have u doped up on pain killers .I know she was

My buddy had them and he said it hurt pretty bad

I would advise against the painkillers. Most come with APAP which fuck with protein sythesis and the only ones that work are opiates. You dont need an opiate addiction when its all said and done!

Bro, I'm sorry to here about your kidney problems. Just hang in there and pass that sucker. They usually give you some meds to help shrink it, did they? Sounds like you don't have to far for it go. Take care.

O yes those are painful! I had kidney stones awhile back and it was the most pain that I've ever been in. They had me on some kind of pain med that was like dermerol. It was the smallest little red capsule I've ever seen. And that shit would knock you the fuc out. Some days I had to live with the pain cause I would be able to get shit done if I took one of those damn pills. My mom just had stones a month or so ago and found out how painful it was. She finally had more sympathy for me as she didn't think I was in as much pain as I made it seem when I had them. I even walked around for 2 days when they were in the most painful stages. Those little things are so shrap. You'll know when they start coming out cause alot of times they cut you and you'll piss alittle blood. Although I never did. They could never find mine either. Pumped me full of all kinds of dye and shit. Just relax and drink alot of water, that's the best thing that you could do. And when I say alot I mean more than you could ever even think about drinking, that seemed to help me the most.

umm.

I may be a jack ass for asking this guys but, how do you get them and can they be avoided?

Ouch, Ouch!

Dave, I feel for you bro. I underwent some major surgery a while back and I thought I knew what pain was. However, just recently a good friend of mine thought he was having a heart attack and as it turned out he was diagnosed with kidney stones. He had to suffer for almost a week before those suckers passed (and he said he almost passed out in the process). Good luck.

Hang in there, Bro!!!

Kidney stones SUCK!!! Never had them, but the storie of the pain are consistent.

I would look into getting an herbal remedy to help pass them. I have heard good things. Look up a local herbalist or go to a well respected health food store. (A naturopath, homeopath or acupuncturist would help, too.)

FYI, the stone are mineral deposits (made of calcium, uric acid, etc.) - they literally are mineral "stones."

dave aren't you in your early 20's????? that concerns me more then the fact that they found out what the problem was---kidney stones at that age are VERY rare and tend to lead to other problems down the road

um not that rare

Heriditary factors come into play as well. Bad enough the pain he's in, ya wanna scare the fuck too? Its not THAT uncommon.

Scare

Hope it gets better bro..'they' say its the male equivalent to child birth. Good luck...

As far as scaring..heres a little something on that:

For unknown reasons, the number of people in the United States with kidney stones has been increasing over the past 20 years. White Americans are more prone to develop kidney stones than African Americans. Stones occur more frequently in men. Kidney stones strike most typically between the ages of 20 and 40. Once a person gets more than one stone, others are likely to develop.

If I remember correctly, and I am very rarely ever wrong (hehe), they can break up the stone with ultrasound or something like that, so it can be passed easier if the stone is too big.

Anyone else hear this too?

Skip

No they cant break the stone up with an ultrasound. There are surgical procedure that can be done. But that means going in. And most people AND doctors rather no do surgery unless it is absolutely necessary.

The surgery is generally the last resort and used for extremely severe cases. That's what they told me and what they just told my mom why I was standing there. Case she wanted them removed as she couldn't and or didn't want to deal with the pain anymore. There was a lazer processes that he talked about but they again don't like doing that very often. They would prefer that it's passed naturally, regardless of the pain. They'll dope you up real good and send you on there way.

Lazer? WTF? Never heard of that. The most common procedure used to break up a kidney stone is done by a specialist doing an ERCP.

HE said something about using some kind of little lazer type thing. He was a quack, I think that's how he explained it, thinking he was talking to someone that wouldn't understand the procedure. That's the only possible explaination that I can come up with.

It probably like getting hit with shrapnel-in the penis!!!!
Or I also heard its equal to childbirth-again through the penis.
Hope you are Ok soon bro!
