Blew out knee! MRI tomorrow. X-ray inconclusive.

Recuperation tips, please

BPC, all minerals, tons of anti-inflammatory supps, few pain killers. Ice every hour. Will do stem cell injections and anything else exploratory, just really don’t want surgery.

Been laid up for 6 days now. Very frustrating.

Thoughts, advice. Please and thank-you.

Get a diagnosis from an orthopedist before doing anything outside of elevation and rest, peptides can help, but usually only after surgery, or at least after diagnosis of no surgical intervention required. You cannot rush a knee injury back faster than your physiology will allow.

Your Polska dance days are over friend. Kidding, bro you dont even know whats wrong yet, its a bit premature to say you wont be taking the surgery.

Look like you dislocated your knee cap. What was your mechanism of injury?
Its tough to tell because the AP, Lateral and Medial oblique views look good.

Are you saying that because of the merchant/sunrise view? Yea it does look funky but a bilateral for comparison probably would have been helpful here.

If the patella is displaced, it does not look horribly displaced.

Stem cells will not fix any complete tears. Surgery may be your only option if there is a full tear or multiple full tears.

Yeah. I have never seen a Sunrise with the patella looking like that. I believe its way lateral like he may have tore his medial patellofemoral ligament structure. I'm not a doc and am always wrong. Otherwise AP and lateral look like he has minimal mild compartment arthritis.

I had knee surgery in 2020 and fully recovered and my knee was a mess..good luck to you.

Phew, its a good thing your pecker made a full recovery too. Not sure what you would have done without that magnificent appendage.

My knee cap hung like that when I completely ruptured the quad tendon last year. You probably wouldn't be able to stand like that if it was a full rupture though, lol.

Starting growth factors before the surgery could complicate things as it could cause the tendon to start to re-attach in wrong place. Mine started to do that... fortunately I had a rush surgery.

FYI, the most over-represented demographic for Quad tendon rupture is the steroid using male over 40.

Uh

Ruptured quad tendon it is, surgery in 2 weeks.

Stabilize that sucker. Mine would start to heal and then once a day would sorta break loose and be painful as shit. Those 2 weeks won't come soon enough.

I'm 9 months out from surgery and squatting fine now. Only things that set me back were stretching too early. For the first bit, don't worry at all about ROM.

Kneeling on the thing for the first 6 months is a bitch, but then it is fine.

So surgery today. 5 hours!

Torn quadricep tendon. Thank-god for insurnace. $40,000 surgery

I’ve only been to the gym 3 times in the last 4 weeks—- most I’ve missed literally in 40 plus years of training-/ and the crazy part is:

My weight has stayed the same at 230 +/- 3lbs,

Steps as measured by my IPhone averaged 1,100 a day for the last 25 days; year up to that point has been 8,500/day,

Only been running 250 mg enth a week,

Taking 200 mcg of t4

Diet pretty much sucks bad, been making sure to get at least 175 grams of protein a day but eating all kinds of comfort and junk food (normally good mid cal BB diet 90% of the year)

And I’m actually maintaining my build pretty decently. Never missed that much gym time. Juice is half normal diet sucks pretty bad

So I’m never been in a similar circumstance before and actually impressed.

Btw, the injured quad and attached calf have widled down to nothing.

Been busy planning my “Post Op Comeback

So I’m never been in a similar circumstance before and I’m kind of surprised. I’m no Mentzer cultist but I’m at 2-3 workouts in a month.

Btw, unlike the rest of my body, the injured quad and attached calf have widled down to nothing.

Been busy planning my “Post Op Comeback Program” haven’t really stacked and just TRT for the last few years but kind want to blow it out now…

Goal of 235 lbs stage ready by January 1 and look for a spring show or 2.

Current forearm pic from today

Good Luck with your recovery. I tore both three years ago.

Be diligent with your rehab!
Don't skimp on any work your physio (make sure they are a good one) has you do - it can make or break your full recovery.
