So I was squatting maybe 4 weeks ago, I have been using a closer stance to hit my quads more as opposed to overall leg... I did 455lbs, which I've done 100 times in the past, completely warmup up and there was a pop in the upper portion of my left vastus lateralis.
It hurt for a few days but thats it. I took a week off from training legs so hit legs 2 weeks after the injury. No pain at all but every time I squat, only the first rep, there is a clicking in the lower portion of my vastus lateral near my knee joint. No pain at all, no discomfort, nothing.
What could this be? I've read up on meniscus tear symtoms but they are more much pronounced and all include pain and swelling. I had pain but no swelling with the initial injury.
Ive also read it could be IT band syndrome. which to me sounds more likely. I know the IT band inserts on the lateral side of the knee so that could explain it. I know with the syndrom the IT band tightens and snaps along the knee joint causing the clicking, but again I have no pain wtf!!! I am very lateralis sweep dominant so maybe it would be more prone to injury? Idk.
Any advice or insight whatever! would help thanks guys.
