I am currently healing from a knee cap dislocation and MPFL tear. My injury occurred on September 20th. I am in a T-scope knee brace, and have been doing PT for the last 4 weeks.
So far, my stability has gotten much better, but we are still working on increasing my range of motion.
It has been going great, but the past week I have been experiencing a lot of tightness in the knee, as well as a feeling that something is about to “pop” in my knee when I do certain exercises.
I have been taking it very slowly and not pushing it when I get this feeling, as I am terrified of furthering my injury.
Today I am experiencing a sharp pain at the top of my kneecap, mostly when walking. I’m using my crutches again to be safe, which I haven’t needed in 2-3 weeks. When I sit, the sharp pain is not there, but my knee is very sore.
My question is- should I try to do my PT exercises (prescribed twice a day)? I don’t want to further injure myself or aggravate my knee further, but I also don’t want to lose progress.
I called my PT office and left a message, but they are closed until Monday.
