So I was watching YouTube video of a leg workout and the guy doing hacks wrapped his legs NOT around his knees but rather at the base of his quads over the tear drops and slightly above

What is the purpose of this? I always thought around the knees

Could of had a recent injury he is protecting. Pulled hamstring or it band .

Whatever gives people the most rebound. There is no real evidence I have seen to support that knee wraps prevent injury. The only purpose is to increase the weight lifted via elastic response.

Since the flexion is above the knee, you can remove flexion gapping, which would result in a decrease in stability within the joint, if you wrap above instead of around. If you wrap below, it will help with more of a "plyometric" rebound due to the extra pressure on the patellar tendon.

I done this before, I strained my quad muscle so I wrapped it for more security.

I dont know how people can use knee wraps. They are way to restrictive. I understand the spring action you get, but Id rather not wrap em..

Wrapping was the worst thing I did ...using knee sleeves was a much better route.

Too many knee injuries resulted from wrapping and going too heavy
