LabMax test question...

I have a product that I am going to be using a labmax test kit on.
They are caps filled with the hormone and I sure some kind of filler.

I plan on opening one of the caps and putting the powder in the test vials.
Wanted to know if the fillers will skew the results?
Labmax advised the brighter the colors the more pure the hormone. Will having fillers in there skew the results??

The filler can mess with the lab max depending on what it is. For example if the filler has any coloring or dye in it, that can affect the test results. Any idea what the filler is? Can you tell by smell or taste?

No but the powder is completely white.

Testing purity is usually gonna require raw material, without fillers added. Once a product is mixed you can test for specific contaminants or concentration of an oil but that is involved. If you have access to a lab, maybe at school, you could add the mixture from cap to an infrared spectroscopy machine and look up a known graph for the compound that is supposed to be in there. You will get back a graph with lots of spikes, some will be the filler, some (hopefully) will match the known graph for the compound that is supposed to be in there. As for OTC kits, labmax is it, give it a try. I would ask your source for reimbursement in product if you post results in their thread.

I tested 2 of our raws at school and with the IR machine it was like 3 minutes. Was really cool to be in lab with the head of chemistry dept, a lab tech and my teacher that has a PHD in chemistry from Princeton, all doing "research". They all knew what the compounds were and nobody said a beep. I only had like 1-2g of each though. Attached is a pic of the IR spectroscopy machine. It`s actually really small and I imagine less expensive that a "cheap" NMR machine that is over $100k. I`d bet many community colleges have one.
