Laid off in first quarter of 2010

So this past Thursday, my day off, I'm out at a diner and just ordered my food. T bone steak white rice and brocolli. My doushe of a boss calls to let me know i have a conference call later in the day. So i go on to the call, and find out my company is being bought out in the first quarter of 2010, and I will, as many others, be out of a job!!! Funny thing is i was laid of last year, with all the cuts, and found a new company, and know the same company that laid me off the first time ...is buying this new company. Fucked twice by the same company!!! So here i am at work...knowing that i am going to be laid off..sooner or later. I cant even concentrate, and even though it is not my boss' fault...i still want to snap him in half like a twig doushe he is. Just venting here

Oh let me add...when this happened last year...child support 1,454.00 a month, and my mortgage 1970.00 a month...almost drove me off the deep end. The system bites..i was not allowed to modify my childsupport...so it just added up for 6 months..close to ten grand. i just finished last month paying it all back...

I just started training hard again..after a long layoff. AND NOW I HAVE NO APPETITE!!!!

No one wants to get laid off, but don't let it effect you mentally. I gave up a long time ago depending on some one else for my paycheck. I now work for myself. There is something positive out of this, you at least got notice, so you have over 2 months to try to get another one. Keep your chin up and don't let them get you down.

im sorry that this is going to happen . at least you got a heads up. and have some time to look for another job.

i lost my job in july and it was sudden., i was at work and the boss called me in for a meeting and tells me im laid off.

but im still waiting on a couple jobs and im drawing umemployment.

i hope you find a job .

michigan is totally f-ed.

The court system is self serving. There is no reason why it is the way it is for any other reason than it keeps you unhappy. Paying for your attorney and going back to court is there game.

Yeah I already have some feelers out, and hopefully something will come up. I planned on moving south this spring/summer, and i do see this as a sigh to go..its just not on my terms

Check into the hot spots. They're always changing though. Texas was good, not sure about now.

I worked in North Carolina about a year ago. They where barely even feeling the recession. South Carolina was a mess.

Sorry to hear!

Just remember things could always be worst! Think that! And stay positive!

Not discounting what your going through because it is important and does suck and it's what Your dealing with, your demon per say. Everyone has them and it naturally over powers you and makes you feel that the world is ending....Thats normal!

Just remember:
The next person you may run into maybe be suffering or going through something worse in there life so don't be insensitive to them and appreciate that fact that your not going through there situation...and even though this is shitty...you'll feel better about your situation.

You'll be fine, stay strong!

Sorry to hear that. Take it as your cue to make the move south. Life rarely comes at us on our preferred schedule. Seems like I heard on NPR some time back that you are in a growing field? Lets face it, the largest demographic is getting older now. Death and taxes is job security for somebody

sorry to hear man...i worked in ny also..been laid off since april...just started picking up again getting some decent interviews...it was a nice summer off but rough financially!!

My man ... be thankful you have TIME until you are laid off. Shit, I was laid off unexpectedly 1.5 months ago. Bills up the ass as well!

I just look at my life and I could have it a lot worse. I'm picking up the pieces and have a good outlook.

I know everything is hitting you all at once. Hell, it hit me fucking hard! Emotional roller coaster .. arrghhh! I thought about driving over to my bosses house and knocking him the fuck out since I RELOCATED for this job and left a job that was good to me and my wife. These are normal feelings ... I still have this feeling but realize it won't get me anywhere.

Give it a few days and get your mind free of it all and setup a plan for yourself and GO GET IT! You have some time ... go for it hard! Plus, live life like you don't have any money at all. Be a super stickler on your grocery bill. Don't buy any wants, only needs. Life will be tight, but you can do it.

Continue training hard, continue eating like you do ... NO REASON TO GIVE UP THE IRON.

Best of luck brother. Just setup a plan after your mind is clear and GO FOR IT!
