Does anyone do these?!?

Cant use as much weight as normal lateral raises, but they seem to work the medial deltoid more.

I really like lateral raises, i think they are a good exercise. Just looking for some variation in them.

Thanks!?!

I like do a bastard "crucifix" lateral raise, where the palms are facing up. I can't go all the way down or go real heavy, but it sure hits the medial head.

It's a bastardized mix of the crucifix hold and lateral raises.

Here's a crucifix lift with 130lbs (fuuuck crazy strength):

Looks nasty. Wouldn't you get a lot of bicep action in there with a palm in grip?

I do if I go down below a certain point in my made up lift, that's why I don't go all the way down in the raise.

That lift looks horrible. Palms bent down and major low back. Should be light and controlled as you are only really working a small aspect - one head of the delts (lateral) and yes palms facing eachother when by sides and up to parallel to the ground. That 130 just does not look good!

The crucifix lift in itself was just a static hold that displayed strength. Nevertheless, he sure was straining, LOL.

When I do my lateral raise/crucifix hybrid, I don't go over 15lbs. Burns my medial head like it has a rash, lol.

Try gripping the DB's on the outside grip vs in the middle. ;)

I remember seeing these in an old book.

The real question is... do you really think this is a valuable exercise? Will this be the answer to adding delt mass? If this was the answer, don't you think more people would be using this? Does this movement feel natural at all?

I ask myself these questions when introduced to a new exercise. The usual answer is... the basic shit works.

look up larry scott on youtube, his lateral raises are excellent
