Latest keep me relevant influencer fad the sugar diet

I would truly like to see a DEXAs for a handful of people following this diet.

Ideally prior to starting the diet, then after 4-6 weeks. Keeping other variables as close to static as possible (drugs, training, cardio etc).

I preface this with I am totally thinking out loud here based off watching chase irons content and following brads log/input in this thread.

I don’t think there’s anything special about “waking” and I agree it’s just time…. But…

The way Brad explained it as a dial is good to think here. After not eating all night that knob towards fgf21 is already in a solid place and ready for the sugar to enhance it. That way your m1 and all the subsequent meals until your last meal with protein keep reinforcing this fgf21 response.

If you ate all your protein with m1, that dial from the fasted baseline takes a big hit down all the following meals of sugar (while still possibly helping fgf21 rise) aren’t as “productive” as they would have been. If I were to do the sugar diet and fast from protein for most the day, I sure as hell would want to make sure I am getting the most out of that target window of the sugar fast as possible. I am no expert at all, this is just me thinking out loud essentially and coming to the conclusions that seem to make the most sense to me.
The protein at night will also help with sleep 😴

Thank you for this typed out. Do you have any links where they talk about the interval between the sugar and protein portion of the day?

Is 4 hours about what most of you guys are doing?
Sorry for the late response. No sir, I kind of put that together after binge-watching ~15 videos on the subject. The goal is to have it clear out of your system before introducing other macros, I chose that specific gap to be safe.

My understanding of this is that fat also stops the FGF boosting effect, correct? So when I supplement with fish oil , I should stop taking it in the morning when I wake up, and leave the fish oil for the evening? Or is this just splitting hairs at this point?
No, so long as protein is kept low, FGF21 increases.

Go watch some of Mark bells lates. He is totally flip-floped again, and continues to alter what his approach is. He he flipped and shit on his old partner in crime cole, and he's eating a ton of protein, and a ton more of regular carbs, and just says the main goal is just keep fat low. So, you mean just a regular bodybuilding diet? Ohhk

Yup, to be expected. All diets "work" when CICO is taken into account. But elimination diets, especially Keto and Carnivore, almost always fail in the long run because they are not sustainable...and then people quickly get back to where they started, or worse

The more I watch of these 2...they are both clowns. Bell just spams youtube worse than dr. Mike...cole just looks like an ugly fat middle age guy who screams alot.

What are yall thoughts on potential health concerns of this diet...assuming fruit and honey are used not pure sugar or candy

1. Protein .8g per lb shouldn't be an issue..
2. 30g or less or fat...imo this could be problematic either health wise or just feel like shit. I usually see 20 percent of calories recommended minimum from fat
3. Eating "sugar " without protein during the day. I guess this could potentially cause blood sugar spikes, not good for cholesterol, a1c rise...perhaps insulin sensitivity issues?

That's all I can think of

Everything cause sugar spike - it is healthy response, you dont need much fat daily. I dont see any issues long term. Why would it be? If anything people say that this diet improve insulin sensitivity a LOT.

Maybe it’s not that people are overly sensitive. Maybe the problem is actually you. Have you ever genuinely thought about that?
you are making this thread go to shit with your constant need to post to every single persons response and your need to try to sound like the enlightened being that you want to come across as. How about get back to the topic and let other people talk. Continue your bickering in DM'S so we can focus on the point of this thread without having to see it chalk full of your overvalued perspective.

Are you following my written-out time block protocol? Gotta give a few hours to let the carbs clear outta the tract.

Utilize papaya chewable enzymes post-protein meals, pre-meal enzymes, and Betaine HCL enzymes ( I would say if you only do one, these have the best impact) with your 7pm -> bed time meals.

Also, possibly try lowering physical fruit intake and replacing it with some fruit juice, Gatorade, or whatever else like that. The fiber could be blocking you up, I just went through this and it was very fucking uncomfortable so I feel for ya. Let's get to the bottom of it.

Edit: I advise you to skip meals tomorrow until you are able to use the bathroom and feel better. It will give a better starting point for recovery.
please don't take this as me being a dick because that is not how I intended it. I see you commenting and talking alot about this diet but I thought I also saw you say you were excited about this and new to it somewhere along the lines? How are you giving nutritional guidance if you are a newbie to this? I dont know if you do coaching or something? Curious if you have a background in nutrition or its just first hand experience? Have you read the book that I think Chase mentioned in his youtube? Curious if its worth the read?

Thanks

I personally know Mark better than anyone in this thread…guy is a 100% DOUCHEBAG !!!!!!! Total snake oil salesman. Anything he is pushing is crapola.
I met him on Grinder. Im curious how much better you really know him ;). jk

The youtube videos about this are shaping up like the "The Real Housewives of Sugar Diet"

Bell was hanging out with Shawn Baker, and all of the sudden he is like, yeah I need protein back in my life, and he is eating things like cereal and shit. I mean it is still puffed rice, with sugar, and is not the same as just eating maple syrup. I get experimenting and I am all about that, I love doing it as well, but youd think you'd hold off on making videos every other day telling people how to do it best, until you have nailed down the principles of it. I saw Chase Irons recently say he is moving on from it, but may try it once in a while for a short period of time.

Everyone is scared to death of the low protein aspect of the diet! That's what's got everyone jumping ship... it's a DIET for me it's not a LIFESTYLE.

For anyone that is SERIOUS about giving this diet a good honest go then spend 50 bucks and buy Joe Binley's book "fueled to thrive"

So just messing about searching high sugar diets etc and ran across a person named Ray Peat.

Anyone dig into him at all? He was (is?) an advocate of high sugar/fructose diets, lower fat and moderate protein. Peatarianism....

Cue the appearance of Peatarianism on Tik-Tok and the incoming tsunami...

Ray Pete diet from ChatGPT below. I am 208.

I hope you did not take my comment as condemning anyone doing it, and I know you like, and have had success with it, which is awesome. I have a client running "a" variation of it and they love it as well. Everything I learned about running it on them, was learned from this forum, and only this forum. From this thread, and your comments. I just think its bizarre how he (Mark) was making videos yukking it up with this Cole Snake Clown like 3 days ago, and then he meets up with Baker, and the next day literally says "Fuck Cole", "I'm bringing my protein back up" "Im just going to keep protein and carbs high and fat super low". Yet 2 days ago he was making videos saying the exact opposite of that. There is a clear delineation between people quietly experimenting on themselves, and talk about their experience on niche forums such as this, and those that constantly, and bombastically blast social media with "content" for engagement.

I don't truly care about Bell, I respect his powerlifting accomplishments for sure, but impressionable people will take things these social media guys say without researching and experimenting on their own, and up more lost than they were before.
