Laziness? Disrespect? Entitlement? Or all three?

Not here since im a nobody here, but on other places where i moderate, its a sign of the times, people are using AI and just takin the answers as "rule" having 0 idea behind things like timing, genetic varians and other factors. Its sad really, sounding old but back in the day i was on the biggest gear/bodybuilding site in my country as a moderator and we had a rule in the gear section, if you cant write down a cycle including pct and explain why you are using the compounds etc you cant post in the gear part you are on read only !

Yes, I moderate a couple telegrams so get it a lot on there. A lot of ridiculous ones as you said, but I usually just laugh it off and don’t respond in those scenarios. In general though, I don’t feel too bothered when someone reaches out for help as long as they’re respectful.

This is not something I would normally put up a thread for, but I am truly curious if any of the other long-time members here have experienced what I am about to explain.

Have any of you ever received pm's from people you don't know...who have little to no post history...who demand an answer to their questions...who are too lazy to use even semi-decent grammar (e.g., no periods, comas, or capitalization, essentially leaving you to guess what they're actually asking/saying)..and who show zero thanks for your time? It almost comes across as if they think you're just a little bitch-slave who exists solely for no other reason than to decipher their unintelligible mess of letters, while having absolutely no idea that their entire approach lacks both gratitude and respect.

Look, I have absolutely no problem helping people when they have questions (assuming their questions are reasonable from a time investment standpoint) and I am often happy to do so, but when someone insists that I educate them about a complex subject, without even taking the time to properly explain themselves, show basic respect, or demonstrate even the slightest bit of appreciation for my time, I have a problem. This isn't a common occurrence, but when it does happen, it makes me ask myself "what is going on in someone's head, to make them think that this is an acceptable way to approach someone for a favor?"

If anyone here has experienced something similar, feel free to let us know.
I get messages like this all the time

Unfortunately, this is a bigger problem than just on the boards. I recently “got in trouble” while training a new graduate ICU nurse, for making them look things up rather than just telling them the answers. My process has always been look up the answer to your question, explain it to me like I’m 5, and then let me ask you questions. That’s “too much” for these new nurses.

It seems that in the google/chat gpt era of things, actual learning is no longer required.

a different mentality in the species now , seems everyone acts like they are owed something in this day?

Every fu*king day. All of the above.
Regret replying every single time.
Same here.

BTW, you need to edit your banner. Size in your signature has to be similar to your banner size.

If you guys were like me and just come across as a grumpy old man that was a dumb ass would not have this issue. Problem solved.
Luckily I seem to slowly be turning into one of those as well

That's actually a great way to help someone learn. You're teaching them the "process" to find answers, and by asking them to explain the answer back to you, you can tell whether or not they truly understand the issue. I agree with you, but if the person asking the question is lazy, well then....

My favorite is when they ask you for advice and then immediately give an excuse as to why they can't do your suggestion.

You then realize they were never going to do anything, and the conversation they are having with you is a 'self feel-good' trick so that they feel like they are doing something about their fitness.

When I was a trainer I got to the point of directly calling out this BS. Now that I don't get paid to deal with it, I have even less tolerance.
I get this all the time from people who ask how I lost the weight and keep it off- especially people who knew me back in the day, for some reason.

Like, if you’re going to just say “fuck no “ to the advice, why ask? I guess they must think there’s a magic shortcut and they’re disappointed with “lifestyle, nutrition , exercise”🤷‍♂️

I had a young kid at the gym ask me how much GH I'm on. No hello hi, just straight to the point. I would never have done that back when I was 18, lol.
Possibly ( but unlikely) maybe a slightly autistic/ Asperger’s person? I’ve encountered that (my oldest son has special needs, so I’m hyper aware of that). You can usually tell if the approach is very direct, but flat and unemotional.

But, that’s by far the minority of those cases as far as I can tell. Some people are just rude.🤷‍♂️

Had some such similar question.

- How much X are you taking?

- No, just tren, one point five.

- "One point five," what do you mean?

- One and a half vials of acetate a week. Of course with test, two point five.

Delivered with a deadpan expression, no smiling.

Didn't know what to say to that. Obviously what I said wasn't true lol.

What were the best excuses you ever heard?

I have had this happen to me in person. I had a kid a couple weeks ago at my gym demand to know what drugs I was using. I was carrying dumbbells from the rack when he basically yelled me at me from 10 ft away demanding to know my cycle. When I chastised him for being an idiot he looked truly confused and stated that he wanted to know so I should I answer him. I told him I don’t owe him shit and to talk to someone else. This isn’t the first time it has happened to me and of course he didn’t even appear to lift.

I think what is most frustrating is that even if you try to give good advice to people they don’t listen because they are an expert already with lifting an diet (at least they think so) and they just want you to confirm their bias that yes they do need to take a gram of test and tren per week.

"I have over 10k invested in my wardrobe, I can't lose (or gain)weight or that will all be wasted. "

Got this from 2 different clients who bought a shit ton of training.

Or a coworker telling me "they have no time to workout" on a slow shift where I park the ambo at the gym and go workout, lol.

"I have over 10k invested in my wardrobe, I can't lose (or gain)weight or that will all be wasted. "
that's not too bad lol ... depends on whether they were fat and justified not losing weight, or whether they resisted getting huge so they can still fit in their small sized suit. The first one would be less respectable than the last one obviously.

I have a very annoying work colleague atm, 20 years old, who constantly tries to "relate" through the topic of bodybuilding and diet and his excuses are ridiculous. He also does not listen at all and just talks as if we were on the same level, if you know what I am trying to say ... no hate but he is 20% bodyfat, doesn't look like he lifts and said his only attempt at a diet lasted 2 days, but yet he keeps talking about his diet plans (and the excuses that go with them). The plans themselves are also totally ridiculous, like starting a cut on 900 calories of chicken and salad at 190lbs bodyweight and so on. I always try to inject some well intentioned pieces of advice, but he ignores them, there's no appreciation at all lol

His best excuse was that he can't start his diet because his mom is giving him shit and is concerned about him eating 1lb of chicken a day.

Yeah, the ones who scoff at your written out 2800 calorie diet saying it is not 'hardcore' enough, then show you their 1200 cal plan that they cheat on daily so they are actually eating 3500 of crap.
