PDI ANNOUNCES THE SIGNING OF LEE PRIEST TO COMPETE IN NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

Pro Division Inc is proud to announce that Lee Priest has signed a contract to compete in NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS XXVII, Saturday, September 16th, at the Town Hall Theater in New York City.

Lee Priest is one of the most popular Bodybuilders in the world today, if not the most popular. His amazing physique, his drag racing hobby and his hospitality towards fans make him one of the top personalities in the sport. He is also a man who many people believe is the greatest short man in the history of the sport.

Lee has been a pro for 12 years and has won the 2002 San Francisco Pro Invitational, the 2005 Australian Pro Invitational, and the 2006 Ironman Pro Classic. He has been a top ten finisher in the Olympia and a top six finisher in the Arnold Classic numerous times.

Lee also has a second career with drag racing where he recently took the checkered flag for his initial first place victory. PDI will market Lee as a two sport competitor and champion in order to garner maximum exposure for both Lee and the Night of Champions event.

Night of Champions will be the first pro event on the PDI fall schedule. Lee’s decision to compete in NOC was enhanced by the reputation of the event, the location (Town Hall, New York City the site of the first NOC in 1978) and of course, the Bodybuilding fans of New York who Lee feels are the best in the world.

Lee states, “It is a great opportunity for me to compete in Night of Champions in New York City. The fans, the theater, the staging and the promotion make it the most distinctive event in Bodybuilding. Also, I am very enthused about competing under the new rules that govern such events that PDI has implemented. I take pleasure in the fact that aesthetics will be emphasized and that the entertainment element will be judged and rewarded. I feel that this is a step in the right direction to make our sport more exciting and exhilarating for the fans.”

Pro Division CEO Wayne S. DeMilia states, “We are thrilled to sign Lee Priest as the first PDI athlete and to have him contracted to compete in the first PDI event, Night of Champions XXVII. Lee has always been a fan favorite in New York and this year will be no different.”

DeMilia goes on to say, “This is only the first of many Bodybuilding stars from different organizations encompassing the world who will join PDI and make PDI events exciting, entertaining and unpredictable.”

Anyone wishing to purchase tickets for Night of Champions or if there are athletes wishing to join PDI, they should contact us at [email protected].

What do we supose to do?
I received a mail from the IFBB (Jim Manion) saying they no have nothing to do with the Professional division INC.

It is also a rumor that Tony Freeman is going to the Night of Champions (of the new pro division), i think Lee aready have money, he famous and he doesnt care about suspensions or anything, but Tony Freeman is in hes best moment, and in 2 years he is going to be in the top 3, i think he is not going to make a mistake.

What is the real trhuth... can you get disqualified or sanctioned or what????

The guys who went to the WBF careers were essentially over after McMahon got through with them. The IFBB ceratinly seems to have a monopoly going.

The guys who competed in the WBF had to pay a huge fine ($20-30k!) to be readmitted back into the IFBB after the WBF disolved.

With the shitty prize money given to pro BBers, how do they justify that amount?

reply

WHOA! Hey I like Toney Freeman buy do you really think he has what it takes to be a top player? I cant help but stare at his torn pec everytime he poses.

Personally I would love to see the PDI put a dent in the Manions & the Weiders. I'm a fan of neither. This has been a long time coming. Wayne's a good man. This is not a Vince Mcmahon or a Jim Manion or a Ben Weider. I'd be curious as to why a guy w/ pro status like BigHeinz would not jump ship. I mean, what is the IFBB doing for you exactly? It would be the best thing to happen to this "sport" in awhile if the PDI makes it. Should be interesting.

I'm glad Lee has the balls to stand up for what he believes in. He doesn't think the judging is fair with with the Olympia, and is making his statement. He did so last year when he didn't compete, and he's doing it again. Good for him. And Toney Freeman can do whatever he likes too. I'm sure he can live off of endorsement deals.

But I think you have a point, Big Heinz, that Lee already has enough money where he's not too worried about fines. But since the contract was null and void last year, I'm wondering if he's free to do what he wants anyway at this point?

Who knows. All I know is that I support this decision by Lee and I hope that this means a better, more respectable show with quality placings based on the physique, and not the ego.

For those of you that don't know...Vince Taylor and Vinnie Galanti has joined the organization.

I agree....

this will be the best thing for the "sport" of BBing. Competition does well for consumer. Look at computer prices now. I just hope and I have faith that wayne will not make this a mockery like vince did. Lee is a big household BBer name, very popular and well known. If this division judges fairly and without as many politics, and more accountability, then this could give the IFBB a run for their money. I really hope this works and breaks up the weider monopoly.

CHANGE IS GOOD...COMPETITION IS GOOD.

I DON'T LIKE THE MONOPOLY THE IFBB HAS HAD ON THE SPORT. MAYBE NOW THE ATHLETES WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE MORE $$ ....HECK, I DON'T KNOW...BUT I HOPE IT WORKS OUT THAT WAY.

LEE SEEMS TO HAVE BIG OLD BALLS.....GOOD FOR HIM. THAT'S ONE THING I'VE ALWAYS LIKED ABOUT HIM...HE TENDS TO DO WHAT HE THINKS IS RIGHT...SCREW EVERYONE ELSE.

I AM GLAD HE'S DOING WELL.

Finally some competition Lee is phucking awesome doesnt suck no ones wanker. Though I think he is taking a chance it will pay off. By the way I dont think Lee is a wealthy man probably makes enough to pay bills from the way he talks but I dunno.

The WBF gave contracts like up to two hundred and fifty thousand. So they knew they had dollars but screwd the BB over started the organization to take the eye off the wrestlers and steroid allegations to point at the BB. I believe this is a win situation this time for the Pros to get the respect they work so hard for. MM

PDI ANNOUNCES THE SIGNING OF VINCE TAYLOR TO COMPETE IN NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

Pro Division Inc is proud to announce that Vince Taylor has signed a contract to compete in NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS XXVII, Saturday, September 16th, at the Town Hall Theater in New York City. Because of prior obligations to the IFBB, Vince has guaranteed his joining PDI effective June 18, 2006.

Vince Taylor has had a career that is beyond words and exceeds anything imaginable. His first amateur victory was in 1983 when he won the Mr. Berlin event in Germany. In 1987 he won the AAU medium height class at the Mr. America and followed that in 1988 by winning the overall NPC Nationals. His Nationals victory gained him pro status in the IFBB.

His first IFBB pro contest resulted in a victory as Vince won the 1989 Night of Champions XI. Since his first victory in New York in 1989, he has followed that up with twenty one more victories that include the Grand Prix of Switzerland, the Grand Prix of Spain, the Grand Prix of Italy, the Grand Prix of Finland, the Grand Prix of Denmark, the Grand Prix of England, the Grand Prix of France, the Grand Prix of Ukraine, the San Jose Pro Invitational, the Niagara Falls Pro Invitational, two time winner of the Pittsburgh Pro Invitational, two time winner of the Ironman Pro Invitational, the Arnold Classic, the Arnold Classic Masters and five time Masters Olympia Champion.

But even with more victories than any other Bodybuilder competing today, Vince is better known for his posing routines. The first time he unveiled his robot routine at the 1991 Olympia he brought the house down and exited the stage to a standing ovation. He expanded on the creativity of the routine in subsequent years and brought posing and presentation to new heights when he incorporated the Macarena into the robot routine by the mid to late 1990’s. His ingenious posing has captivated Bodybuilding audiences worldwide as Vince Taylor has been the most requested athletes in the past 15 years.

“I look at myself as more of a performer and entertainer than as a Bodybuilder” states Vince. He goes on to say “PDI is offering to me exactly what and how I feel Pro Bodybuilding should be. With no restrictions, I will attempt to do something at NOC this September that only Vince Taylor could bring to the entertainment stage. I will raise the bar so high in presentation; it will not be equaled for years. NOC is where I made my pro debut, NOC is where I won my first pro show, and NOC in 2006 is where I will revolutionize posing…….again!”

Pro Division CEO Wayne S. DeMilia states, “We are ecstatic and elated to sign Vince Taylor as a PDI athlete and to have him contracted to compete in the first PDI event, Night of Champions XXVII. Anyone who is lucky enough to have tickets for the evening finals will remember Vince’s performance for years to come. I am sure that Vince will have the New York crowd in the palm of his hand by the end of the night.”

Anyone wishing to purchase tickets for Night of Champions or if there are athletes wishing to join PDI, they should contact us at [email protected].

Well...

Though the PDI might not penalize or sanction athletes for competing in another federation/organization I am quite certain the IFBB wont look so kindly on this. For the IFBB guys who cross over and to a lesser degree the NPC competitors there will be no going back without some sort of penalty, be it placings or potentially fines as we saw with the WBF athletes. Of this I am quite certain.

Yes man, this is a true sport: Diet, Training Techniques, Dedication 365 days of the year, Years to achieve your goals, Blood and Guts, Phylosophi, Anathomy, Chemistry, and every others things that make us real athletes....FOR ONLY $10.000 TO 15.000 FOR THE FIRST PLACE....
even the Mr. O in under pay??? even if you have good sponsors or a good contract the best bb take $250.000 a year???

Other sports are sacrify too and respectable but baseball players can eat every thing they wat, they drink, rest, tehy get out shape and they rest and still winning millions dollars...

Our sport sells a lot, not only for bodybuilders, everybody in the world buys protein shakes, cookies, fat burners, magazines, vitamines, etc.

WHERE IS THE MONEY????

I know every bodybuilder have his piece of the cake, pros and amateurs, is a good life... but is not enouff.... Our sport has to become a real sport some day, lets see, maybe this war make some dramatic changes.

I couldn't agree with you more. This seems like a great opportunity for the lesser known pros. Hopefully the competition will finally make the IFBB pay these guys what they deserve.
