I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, kind of hard to explain.
When I train it feels like the left side of my body doesn't contract (fire?) like the right side. The lat is the most noticeable, but it's also my left biceps, triceps, quad, calf, pretty much everything. The muscles on my left side don't get as good of a pump as the right side. It's almost like the left side muscles are slightly numb, I just don’t have the same mind-muscle connection on that side. Maybe weaker on the left side too, but not drastically weaker.
I should also mention that my left hip has been "crunchy" for at least 10 years, but this issue started maybe a year ago.
I'm thinking this might be some kind of neurological issue? 🤔

I have a similar issue and so I do many exercises unilateral, I am right hand dominant but tend to focus the left side more in exercises.
Perhaps its something minor, for example my right trap is much higher and maybe that imbalance extends to the rest of the body in a subtle way.
looking forward to more responses on this subject.

The muscles on the left side of my body are mostly all weaker and seem to take longer to fire. I was shown 15years ago where i had 1 disc in my neck that was gone and numerous back issues including bulged/herniated discs. A car slamming into me at about 60 mph didn't help 6 years ago as i have a few more bulged/herniated disc since the previous MRI. I take for granted my issues are nerve related. I just do unilatel training the best i can. I use lower weight and do more sets/reps for the weaker side to maintain mass. The difference in mass is not a lot.

Sounds like nerve impingement.

You think it's my cervix? 🤔

Get that cervix scrapped and remove all those dirty cells!!

I would get a MRI so see what's going on.

In the meantime, do some Youtube searches for "cervical nerve flossing exercises" and do them daily.

buck, Big A, and Reno all said it piece by piece.

1) Disc herniation pressing on the spinal cord or nerve running out of the area.
2) Get an MRI to know exactly what level and how bad.

From there, you and your doctor(s) can figure out a plan. Remember, nerves can become permanently damaged, so don't drag your feet!

I had a nasty motorcycle wreck some years back that caused some nerve impingement. My left pec, shoulder, lat, bicep, tricep all shrunk and lost significant strength. That was around 10 yrs ago and there's still a difference in strength and size in my upper body from right to left. Something that I think helped me a lot was using alot of iso-lateral exercises (Hammer Strength, Dumbbells)

That makes sense. I don't have any severe lower back pain, but I have tendency to "tweek" the left side of my lower back doing things like squats and hip-hinge movements.

I know you've had some spine fusion surgeries, have you had issues like this with nerve compression?

I have the exact same issue in my right side. Pec, shoulder, lat, tricep, even bicep a bit.. been going on for years. I’ve just given up because nothing ever seems to work for me. Chiro, physical therapy, acupuncture, peptides…. Nothing works.

Get a cervical MRI

This thread made me a lot more conscious of just how significant my left side has shrunk compared to the right. The most noticeable is my pec and tricep. I would bet there's a 20% difference from one side to the other. Just glad this happened when I was older and no longer trying to compete or even impress anymore.

Get a cervical MRI
I had always thought it stemmed from my messed up shoulders so I didn’t look much further into it.
I did have neck issues many years ago, 4 slipped disks I believe. Chiropractor helped with the pain and range of motion so I thought it was all good. Maybe there’s still something going on in there. I’ll go back to chiropractor for now and see about an MRI soon too thanks

Most likely, the signal does not reach the muscles through the neck, which was damaged. I will say right away that I do not know about this because I have never had such a problem, but a very smart guy on YouTube talks about how neck exercises can activate muscles that we have had problems with so far. I once listened to this material superficially, he recorded several similar ones on this topic, according to him, the neck is the most important muscle group. After all, all signals from the brain to the muscles go through it. The material is in Polish, but if people from this topic write to him privately in English, this guy can certainly help you.
