leg day

If you are doing DC training, is doing 9 sets of squats, even though working up to one all out set the way to do it?

When I did DC this is the problem I had. Once you get very strong (200kg plus squat for 8-10 reps) you have to warm up throughly and this is very time consuming.

What I'm doing with squats isn't really "DC style". I'm doing the sets of 5 to get in more volume and "practice" with heavier weights. It also acts as a pre-exhaust.
Squats are great but personally I find that it's rarely leg fatigue that ends a set - it's my stability/balance, breathing, or lower back. For real leg fatigue, I think you're better off with a machine like a leg press or hack squat.

Like your rep tempo, breathing b/w reps and that you did right at 2x your body weight for 5 reps.

Constant Tension...

What's impressive is that if you look closely, when Shelby gets to the top, he pauses for a brief second BUT doesn't lock out, his knee's are still slightly bent keeping constant tension on the muscle... I just started trying that myself (though with considerably less weight :)) it's HARD. Good job.

It's a great technique in my opinion.

I finally got my training partner to do it with leg training and he was really pleased with the pain :D

No pain no gain :) After doing heavy leg workout and walking out the gym, hard to walk down those bloody stairs and legs feel wobbly. Love the pain :)
