Greatings fellas

Forgive me for being metrical...

i need some help here.... what is the current world record in leg press ?
at the time i`ve got 3 x 6 x 650 KG and 1 x 5 x 720 KG..and i am am starting to feel that i might need to bind my knees soon ... it is getting heavy now.

am i far from it ? any chance ? . i am 1,90 metres , i weigh about 104 KG and you wouldnt think me so strong.. but thats only because i am clean ...

I am sure there is a record for that but to be honest you have not a clue.
That is alot of weight you are pushing.What is your squat, dead & bench ?

The problem with leg press is that different machines are set at different angles and give different amounts of leverage. I have seen some machines where I can load up 5+ 100lb plates on each side and have little trouble, and some where I only use 7-8 45s on each side.

So I find it difficult anyone would ever agree on one method to do the leg press that would be considered official for records.

That aside, 720kg is a shitload of weight and something to be proud of for sure. If there is a leg press record out there I imagine it is something like 1200kg, but whoever holds it probably weighs close to two of you.
 
i dont know what the hell a metre is.. but i know if u think ur strong, get out of the damn leg press and try loading 1/3 of that weight on a barbell and squat it... and not any of the that curtsy knee-bend bullshit people call a sqUAt. take it down till ur hip joint breaks the plane of the top of ur knee. there is no leg press competition. leg press are for roody-poo candy asses who dont have the intestinal fortitude to crawl under a loaded squat bar and move some serious iron.

STOP PRETENDING AND START SQUATTING!!!

Dude, the only time I can squat is if I am wrapped tight. I have knee issues that only hurt on the squat, but not the press. so while my candy ass can press 800+lbs with minimal pain (never tried to max), 300+lbs on the squat (without wraps) just hurts:eek: !
unless you have suggestions to help my knee pain..........

You need someone to look at your squat form then. Make sure you ar squatting back and not down. Most likely your knees are extending out past your feet.

Naw, I have pretty good form actually.
Lt. Col David Ricks (**broken link removed**) fixed my form during a seminar with him. and the only thing he suggested was to open my stance a tad and point my toes out more.
at the top of my game and before my car wreck I was at 425 at 195lbs w/o a suit (that was comp, I actually did 450 in the gym, but that doesn't really count).
I had one guy suggest putting a small 1/2"-1" board under my heels, but I have yet to try it.
Every now and then when I want a serious rush though, I will wrap up and do some squats, no feeling in the world like putting up some serious weight.
hmm....I mught just do that this week for my leg day. like I said, as long as I am wrapped up tight, i can do it!

405 for 7 = 450?

damn, I suprised the hell outta myself today.
put up 405 for 7 reps on my last set (all full squats, i never do hack squats, I call that cheating) . yes, i was wrapped, but only at 315 and above and yes I wore a belt.
my knees are fine (so far) but like I said, I was wrapped.
my knee wraps are getting old though and may need to by some new ones. the ones I have I bought from Marathon, the SuperWrap 10s.

I was waiting to use the squat rack for bent over rows, and this guy had 455 on the bar...he stood around it for 20mins...I shit you not...and then he asked this guy to spot him....well he went down 20% of the way and then bent over...and then came up screaming and racked it...sorry to be disrespectful, but I laughed outloud. He waited 20mins to squat 455 20% of the way down...I believe in partials, but not one rep partials.

Then he came up to me when I was doing bent over rows with 425 and said wow you row as much as I squat...I wanted to say as much as you stand there with...but I just smiled and said yep.

Pat Robertson holds the record in the leg press. Apparently did something like 2000lbs (909 kg) with help of his patented protein shake and God.

Not bad 405 for 7...........8 plates of steel.......Have you tryed training without the wraps?The reason why im asking is that if you build a serious squat without the wraps, then when you do use the wraps its like 10 times the difference.Ive built myself up to 500lbs without the wraps.With the wraps" Inzer" of course im around 700lbs.Anyway bro, 405 for 7 is repectable.Keep drilling that Squat!!!!

I primarily wear the wraps for pain reduction, not support or boosting my squat, though they do probably help a bit.
still, 3 days later, my knees, front and back, are sore now. perhaps I will just do squats on occassion, I will stick with leg presses since they don't seem to hurt as much.
Oh, and about pressing, I once did 1300 in high school, knees to the chest and all, I think a big leg press really is nothing to be proud about, it is a supplemental workout, especially for gimpies like me.
if and whenever they decide to have another powerlifting comp around here, I might go for it.
