Has anyone done lens replacement surgery for eyes? I just got this done and lens replaced with a multifocal lens. Basically corrected my near and far sightedness. No longer will I need glasses again. It is not a cheap procedure, but IMO worth every dime. I just got second eye done. I was amazed how clear my reading was without glasses. It hasn't been this good since my 30s. If anyone else got this done, tell me your experiences.

I'm not sure if what I had was lense replacement surgery but I did get my eyes lasered about 2y ago. Wearing glasses just sucks in every way :D

I'm glad I did it though. Never had any problems and my sight is basically as good as it was with glasses on. The procedure I had done is also approved for airline pilots so I was never worried about the results.

There is a difference between Lasik versus lens replacement. Not sure what you had, but some of my friends that had Lasik said their eyes after about 10 years started to get blurry again. Lens replacement doesn't do that.

I had 'Femto-Lasik' done. Let's hope it holds for a lifetime though because it was quite expensive.

Yeah, traditional Lasik has flaws even beyond the regression. They downplay it when you do the consult, but if you are active and might take a hard hit to the eye, i would suggest non flap correction like PRK. My PRK has held for 15 years with no nearsightedness regression.

I've personally seen a bud open the lasik flap at work at a fall--he was wigging out and screaming.

Beck Weathers, the guy who lost his hands on Everest, was initially disabled because his lasik flap came loose on the mountain and he could not see.

Jesus! Wish you hadn't told me that :D

I am amazed how good my eyesight is. I couldn't see who someone was in the gym until they were close up to me. My eyes were that bad. Now I can read fine print and things are clear again. Technology is amazing.
