Lethargy on TRT

I have not experienced the energy levels most people get while on TRT. I actually feel worse. Random days I could fall asleep mid day and I often have to fight it. I have tried 80mg/wk up to 200 mg/wk within the last two years.

Anyone else experience this? I would really like to get my energy back. I sometimes feel like my brain is in 1st gear and can't get out of it. Kinda like a brain fog.

How does your blood work look?

Have you had your thyroid checked. The symptoms you are describing could mean you are hypothyroid. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 6 months ago. I was very lethargic and just felt very off. I am now on 100mcg/day of levothyroxine (t4)

Never had thyroid checked. Blood work is usually good. What in the blood work would signal something that causes my symptoms?

Tell your doctor the symptoms you are experiencing and ask him to do a full thyroid panel or at least check TSH and free T4

Check your DHEA. Once I hits my 40's it's a must have for my TRT. I'm fatigue ao any dose of test without it. I take 50mg x2 daily and feel best with it in the 800s.

sounds like thyroid issue,i would go check that out

Tim, are you running low carb diet or cutting? Could simply mean there's a low blood sugar or calories too low during cutting or lean bulking (in some cases, your carbs may be too high OR ingesting carbs that are too quick acting/spiking and dropping insulin levels). I'm carb shy and sometimes get lethargic when I haven't had proper calories, or low/no carbs, especially when training 5 days in a week. OR you electrolytes are too low (very probable). "Potassium, sodium, and calcium are electrolytes, or salts that help conduct electric current in the body. Chemically, electrolytes are substances that become ions in solution and acquire the capacity to conduct electricity"

Try other simple remedies before adding more pharmaceuticals...

just my 2 cents

be well

There are a lot of things that are more likely than hormones, like sleep, rest, training, stress, and/or mental health issues, or a combination.

Is the lethargy/crappy feeling dose dependent? ie. the higher the dose, the worse you feel? Without bloods it’s hard to say, but if you have high RBC and/or hematocrit, it could increase your demand for O2. If you’re a big guy it could compound the problem and have you struggling to breathe while you sleep...so I’m told.
A CPAP may help. Just a guess.

X 2. CPAP has been a life saver for me. A lot of people have undiagnosed sleep apnea and TRT increases the likelihood that you have it.

Everyone here has had excellent suggestions.
i have struggled with the same issue from time to time. Hcg with my trt has helped a bit with my energy And switched to the vertical diet.
Also for hypothroidism switched from T4 to Armour thyroid and that helped a ton!

Have you had your cortisol levels checked? Do you take anything else? I have similar issues with lethargy/tiredness. Been using low dose cialis for a long time and just recently figured out cialis was causing me a lot of issues.

I didn’t get sleep apnea until after starting my TRT, didn’t even know I had it until sleeping over my now wife’s house. I got the cpap and it changed everything.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've noticed that I haven't needed as much Adex lately so I assume my Estrogen is lower and I actually feel better.

Yep. Same. Got sleep apnea after starting TRT
