Really want to supplement with potassium for heart health and to prevent muscle cramps. What brand do you take and how much per day. ?

Yes that is correct, it can throw off your sodium/potassium ratio and cause some pretty serious sides.

If potassium levels are out of range on the high side, there is a risk of heart problems. They use potassium as one of 3 drugs for lethal injection which induces heart attack. I would never recommend supplementing potassium. Just eat potatos, tomatos or any high potassium fruits and veggies.
 
i started experimenting with pottasium gluconate and found that pottasium gluconate+ agmatine sulfate pre-workout will allow me to get a decent pump while eating zero carbs...the pump doesnt last long, almost an hour then its gone. it helps mentaly more than anything else...because when you haven't had a carb in over a week and your workouts start dragging because you dont get pumped up, this seems to help a bit.
 
Potassium may not be as dangerous as you think.

I am sure it can be dangerous, but some of the reason you hear many Guys talk about Bloat while using peptide and Gear is not totally due to estrogen and etc. If potassium levels are out of balance then bloat or excessive bloat can occur. The proper ratio of potassium to sodium I think, and I say again I think not exactly sure is 2 times the amount of sodium. So if for example the recommended daily amount of sodium is 2500 mg. Then the potassium should be double that except and again I say except for people with existing heart, kidney, or liver issue then the amount of daily potassium should be less. Diabetics I believe should make sure they have adequate potassium in their diet. I do agree that the best source is a food source, but I would think if your on a certain diet you may be drastically under your requirements. Then you might consider supplementing, a small bit because with out proper Potassium in the body it cannot excrete or balance sodium properly.
 
Have you tried supplementing Taurine first to help with muscle cramps? If not then I suggest you do so supplementing too much potassium could have really bad effects as well as throw your sodium to potassium ratio out of whack.
