Liddel - Wandy Silva UFC 79

looks as thought this fight is on for UFC 79 in december as well as hughes-serra. Going to be announced this weekend at UFC 77.

But... does anyone care now that both are 0-2 in their last two fights, for me it's took all the exitement out of it, wish they fought when both where unstoppable. still be interesting but too late IMO.

braven, your right.. the fight is a non issue now.. both on on the downward slide.. lidell being trounced by jardin just made it that much more clear.. liddel took a wiping from a guy who really was not on many peoples radar.. silva has not faired well either in his recent fights.. so who ever wins, is like "big deal"..

they need to pay a ton of money to fedor and have him fight courture.. randy is right about being screwed buy the ufc when ya look at the money the others are making.. pay him the big bucks and pay fedor the big bucks and that fight will go down in history.. i believe courture would win but, it would be a hell of a fight..

I'm not too excited about UFC77

I agree Lats, Couture/Fedor would be awesome. I'm less than excited about Franklin/Silva and Sylvia/Vera.....kind of lackluster for me. I'm actually looking forward to December and the WEC to see Uriah Faber fight.

I AGREE TOM.. i am looking forward to that also.. i heard today that vera is not fighting because of injury.. is that true???

i hope not because i really want to see tim get blasted.. i can not stand that guy..

randy's resignation

problem with that is he alone negotiated his contract and got an instant title shot although his last 2 fights where KO losses and is certainly a high earner in the UFC. His original argument was that with fedor signing for M1 in russia there was no one left to fight. think he should have stuck to that rather than bringing his contract into it. He also says that his contract will have expired in 9 months but as far as the UFC are concered he has 2 fights left. I know CFC have offered $3 million for the fedor-couture fight but cant see the UFC letting the fight happen without going to court.

Vera injury: haven't heard bout that, his most recent interview (2 days ago) said he was ready, never really know tho. At least one thing you can say about Sylvia (other than he's a moron) at least he was proud to be champion and took alot of shit and got on with it.

Id still Watch it for sure.
Two of The all time greatest Fighters Imo. Should be exciting to watch.
True That Both may no longer be at there best But I wouldnt count them out yet.

I think chuck may have the slight advantage due to being a counter puncher and wandy is gonna come straight at him and also he doesn't have the greatest chin. But then again no one has went at chuck like wandy will so....

shame they both could get another fight or two first and both get back to winning ways.

I hope Lidell does well. He was on top for so long that it's depressing to see him down and out. I want the old Chuck back kicking ass and knocking people out. Silva is good though, we'll see what happens

Didn't exactly maul lindland tho, and he's a smaller version of randy without the dirty boxing. Fedor has faught mainly tomato can's lately at least randy has faced tough competition. Not saying fedor ins't good, it just wont be an easy fight... for either of them

I guess he didn't maul Lindland, but he finished him in 3 minutes. That's pretty damn convincing. I really don't think anyone is on Fedor's level, not even Captain America. You're right about his recent inactivity though, that could be a major factor. Hunt was his last decent opponent aside from blown up MW Lindland, and that was quite a while ago. I would be so amped if this fight ever got signed.

these two have taken major nose dives in last few fights,,,both are GREAT fighters and can come back and win again.

well.. so far the vast majority of fighters from pride have been very disappointing.. my reasoning for thinking courture could beat fedor is the simple fact that he fought some of the guys that fedor has fought have come to ufc and have looked miserable against b level ufc guys.. cro cop gets beat twice and pretty convincingly.. and randy could easily beat those guys like gonzaga (which he dominated).. it would be a good fight but, i would have to see how fedor faired with some lesser ufc guys.. again, so far, the guys from pride have been mediocer..

I agree the guys from pride have been a huge disappointment.....I don't know if it's the aas testing the cage or what....... but Forrest Griffin made a good decision calling Shogun out ---he boosted his rank in mma standings big time after that win!
