I'm 35, started training around 20. Had low T for most of that time, finally on TRT this past year and feel so much better at 125mg/wk.
I'm 5'7, 195 with a 31 inch waist but about 180 with a 28 inch waist in mid-single digits (don't compete). I maintain the 195 on about 2500 calories tops and eat about 1700 when I'm really lean.
I only eat trace carbs, my diet is all vegetables, protein and fat... I hate how I feel on carbs and never notice any lack of fullness or strength without them. 2500 to 1700 is not a huge jump and i mostly accomplish it by switching to fat free milk, lower fat cheeses etc. Protein is set at 250g year round. Vegetables I stuff my face with year round.
I train every day, days off schedule themselves as life happens but on average i'd say I hit everything about 3x per week, often 4. My training is quick and intense, for the most part I don't rest between sets.... if I do rest I jump rope or run in place to keep my heart rate up. Workouts are about 30-40 minutes.
I'm more of a machine guy due to injuries and the fact that I like to train with almost no rest which makes it really hard for me to focus on stabilizing.
I did the following today
Leg Press: Worked up to 11 plates for 8 (60 sec jump rope between 3 sets)
Hack Squat: Worked up to 4 plates (60 sec. run in place between 3 sets)
Hyperextensions: worked up to 3 plates on my chest (zero rest between sets)
Seated Leg Curl: entire stack (zero rest b/w sets)
Plus usual calf stuff, no rest between any of that
That's pretty typical of what I do for just about everything, no crazy volume due to the high frequency.
My only concern is how low my calorie intake is considering how little I rest and how intense my workouts are (i'm never NOT drenched in sweat) but I've tried higher calories and I just get get fatter and fatter. Keep in mind I have a tiny 28 inch waist.... so by the time I get to about a 34 inch waist, which is normal for most guys, I already have like 3 chins... I'm pretty small framed. But yeah any critique to any of my approaches, have at it, I'm always open minded.
I can't post pics due to my line of work and some dead giveaway tattoos I have, but I'm not huge.... about the size of a physique guy, I think I have a similar build to Rob Riches considering he stays a lot leaner and drier than I do.
