Alright fellas here is the deal. Started CPAP therapy about 3-4 years ago after running a sleep study that put me at about 21 AHI. The first 1-2 years were amazing: 8+ hours of sleep with mask on nearly every night. Then, out of the blue, I started ripping the mask off about 30-40 min into sleep every night. I only get more than 1 hour with it on if I wake up to go to bathroom and am coherent enough to throw it back on when I go back to bed.
Fast forward to end of last year: ran another sleep study. This time I registered at 5 AHI, indicating I no longer need it. That being said, I still snore when I sleep on my back and the wife hates me for it.
I have tried everything:
• switching from AutoPAP to CPAP mode
• switching pressure ranges (higher highs/lower highs/smaller ranges/greater ranges)
• turning EPR on/off
• different sleeping positions
• different types/brands of masks
At times I do get longer sleep with it on. Weird thing is that if I take an afternoon nap on a weekend, I have no problem keeping it on for 2+ hours.
Anyone out there experience this? I have gone about eliminating everything I could possibly think of as a factor - down to my mattress.
