I'm not sure the exact year but you just don't see this level of conditioning much anymore.

It makes you wonder how much of it is conditioning and how much of it is just the shitty cameras. Other than paul dillett, the glutes aren't very impressive. In today's shows you would definitely see more guys than just the winner with shredded glutes.

With that said, I personally liked the deeper striated and grainy look as seen in the video.

Looks like thats 2002 night of champions where Ruhl won and dillett placed 6th.

I think part of the appeal of the past bodybuilders is that they actually trained abs even in the off season. It gives a much more appealing look as opposed to today's guys who don't really train them in the off season which likely not only blows the gut out but also doesn't sculpt it the same way as these guys. It was very rare to see a body builder on stage without a great set of abs, now adays it seems to be the norm.
