I used to own 2 V11.
They are real quirky.
You want an italian naked bike?
You should go for a Suzuki V-Twin TL1000S model.
You will not like the V11, as you need special tools to work on it.
Only 2000 miles on the bike and it has never been registered. It belongs to the onwer of the local BMW/Triumph/Ducati shop. Perfect condition $5500
I cannot pass it up.

2001 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport

Suggested Retail Value
$5710
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking price and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer.
The mileage is low but its a high price.
More importantly though is the fact that it is a VTWIN and weighs 500lbs.
It is very heavy and not really a "sport" bike. It puts out 91hp
To compare a japanese 600cc weighs about 360lbs and puts out 105hp the weight makes that a big difference
A 1000cc jap bike puts out 160-180hp at a weight near 400lbs
If you want a naked bike I to would recommend a triumph speed triple it will give you 130hp at 420lbs which is respectable. A Monster S4 as well but more expensive. The other monsters and that moto guzzi your looking at are really just standard bikes not sport bikes.
Of course I am biased as I ride a Speed Triple on the street. But I also ride a GSXR 750 on the track. Point is I like the naked look but wanted a real high performance sport bike.
For the best italian bike you'll love a Ducatti! The looks, the sound, its awesome, gobs of torque! And if you dont like the crotch rocket plastics look, then you'd probably like the MONSTER.
Personally I am a HONDA guy myself. They always win the sport bike comparisons in all the bike mags (against Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki).
They are usually more comfortable for taller/larger riders and have the lowest regular maintenance schedules and highest resale value than any of them.
[been a while since I checked, but I think Honda is like every 6k or 10k miles it needs the routine checkup versus Kawasaki or Suzuki where it's like every 3k miles]
I got a busy day but I will be back later to post up some pics and specs of several of those I just talked about.
