Looking for advice

Hi new to the board so looking for some sound advice.

I will try and keep this as brief as possible.

Age 62, been inactive for 28 years due to severe judo accident, right shoulder and spine. After this happened decided to have left leg repaired from numerous moto cross accidents (the joys of youth) leg was broken and had an open wedge osteotomy and acl reconstruction.
18 months ago unable to raise both arms higher than waist height with terrible pain, saw the local physios all said I needed surgery but I knew I didn't. Went to one of the Olympic physio's told me I didn't need surgery just had to work at different exercise to rectify the problem. After several months he recommended that I join a gym "That's not happening kid" was my reply. Went home told the wife and I have now been a gym member for 12 months, absolutely hated it for 4 - 5 months, now in the acceptance frame of mind. I go 5 times a week and work as hard as I can.
I have not slept properly for years, severe mental confusion at times, no energy, no drive and no mojo. I had a dream about returning a book but I knew that I needed to read it, so I remembered the start of the title (resetting the ) then woke up. Searched for the title and there it was an old book with yellow pages just as in the dream, downloaded the book and it described my symptoms to a tee. Resetting the Clock by Elmer Cranton MD

Went to the local GP and told him my symptoms, his reply was are you depressed, I told him I wanted my testosterone checking which he did, these came back at 11.3 nmol/L (326 ng/dl) and he did nothing. Had bloods done privately and the results came back slightly lower, Spoke to one of the guys at the gym who recommended Test Isocaproate 300mg/ml. Started taking 120 mg a week for several weeks and only noticed a small improvement so upped it to 180mg a week and noticed more improvement after several months. One day I spilt some of the test so syringed it up, 150mg pinned this and a few hours later noticed a big improvement if you know what I mean and the wife was a happy bunny. So I was now taking 420mg a week for several months and one of the guys told me to run Masteron alongside it so I started taking 280mg a week for 3 months. Had my bloods done again and the test had risen to 93.3 nmol/L (2,691 ng/dl). Was advised at the gym that this was too high and told to reduce it so now back on 180 mg test a week and stopped the Masteron.

So my mental clarity has improved, sleep is marginally better and I have much more go about me plus I've found my mojo. But I want so much more. My strength has increased and I have regained some of the muscle of my former years, but I want more.

My Oestradiol has risen from 58.8 pmol/L (1,696.38) to 480 nmol/L (13,848) so considering Primobolan to counteract the Oestradiol. And a few other blood markers have risen.

So, I have no previous experience with these substances so I am looking for some sound advice on where to go from here, bearing in mind that I want so much more. I had kind of just accepted that this is what happens as you age but I now know that life doesn't have to be that way.

Thanks in advance, sorry for the long post and any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes Johnny

Long read,! If you are 62 i think you can make a better decision than me!

Thanks but not really what I was expecting, hopefully there will be someone here who may be able to steer me in the right direction

Many in here are weary of trolls, i don't know if this is the case, but, at 62 i imagine you better than anyone else can make a good decision on whether you want to use more aas or not, I'm 51 and i myself think I'm taking a big risk by running about 600mgs a week and sometimes pushing to 1000. So that's why I'm saying you can determine what's good for you and what's not, if i suggested a course, are you going to do it? And are you going to risk your life because some idiot in the net told you to?

I would consider using anastrozole to combat estradiol instead of adding more anabolics. Also maybe sign up with Rythm health (or something like this) to get monthly checks on lipds, test, free test, and estrogen.
For your age consider:
  • Test-c somewhere between 100mg-300mg per week (inject every other day)
  • Have anastrozole on hand if E2/estrogen creeps up. Research high E2 symptoms (moodiness, itchy nipples, etc)
  • Don't add in more gear such as primo/masteron that will skew lipids even more.
  • Consider sustained improved longevity over short term gains/libido spikes.

If long term health is your goal then i would recommend cutting your doses and improving your diet(which you didn't mention).
If not experiment away.

Hi guys thanks for the replies, I assure you I'm not a troll, my post is genuine and I am looking for sound advice.

@ Mexbeast, I don't want to run test at 600mg a week but found 420mg agreeable for the period of time that I was on it along with the Masteron at 280mg a week, I was worried about my bloods jumping so much but after reading another post on here it seems normal that they jump this much ie an increase of 5x, my jump was roughly an increase of 6x. I am trying to determine what will be best for me long term but also want to regain as much health and fitness as I can and I can assure you that this is the best that I have felt in a very long time. If a course was suggested I would obviously look into it and consider whether this would be beneficial to me, I am not going to do anything stupid but I seriously want more than what I've got at the moment, but also want to be safe in what I do.

@ Feraribrad I will look into the anastrozole, as I mentioned I have dropped the test back to 180mg a week and I am intending to stay at this level for the next two months and then have a full blood panel done to see where I'm at. I will now be taking 60mg every other day with no Masteron. I don't seem to have any symptoms of E2, mood is stable, no itchy nipples etc. The reason I mentioned Primo is because I read it is overall milder and acts as an estrogen prevention which lowers the levels of Estrogen but still gives good gains. I have to agree with you on the sustained improved longevity over short term gains which is what I am looking for but also want to improve from where I'm at regarding muscle mass and strength gains.

@ Buck have cut the doses as mentioned above and I know I have to take a serious look at my diet, we do eat well but obviously there are things I need to address in this area. I am making sure that I have plenty of protein everyday and I know that I need to increase my water intake. These are things I will be looking at and I have downloaded a few bodybuilding diet/menu books that I need to start reading and utilizing.

Well guys thanks for your input and I really do appreciate it, if anyone else has any sound suggestions please feel free to add them.

Best wishes

Johnny

So i went back to read your first post, and noticed that someone at the gym told you to reduce your dose, is he some what qualified to advise you?
If you really want to know what others do then. I personally like to keep about 400 to 600mgs because that has been shown to be safe and infective in the short term. When i combine test with something else I like doing 200/200 or 300/200 why? Because my test is dosed at 300 and my mast is 200, so i take 1cc of test on Sunday and 1cc of mast on Thursday, if i run deca I do the same, except deca is 300, and right now I'm paring eq with test so it 300/400.
If you want to use primo i hope you have a good source, because right now it's not really available, so be careful!

@ mexbeast thanks for your reply, the guy who told me to reduce my dose is a long term user and I have to admit that he has given me conflicting advice so that is why I'm here. The primo is manufactured by the same company as the test and it seems that the test is sound as I have made some good gains and I am quite pleased with the results so far. I have not had any adverse effects except for oily facial skin and a few spots but other than that everything seems to be OK. I was just concerned regarding my bloods but after reading up on another post this seems to be the norm.
As I have said I will be running 180mg of test a week for the next two months and re-evaluate the situation. I like the idea of reducing the test and incorporating the mast and primo and running that for maybe 16 weeks as that seems to be a normal cycle and see how I fare on that. I am looking for a long term plan where I can maximize my overall health and also gain in strength and muscle without doing anything stupid.

Best wishes

Johnny

Based on how long you've ran your current cycle/doses, I wouldn't wait any longer to get a full blood panel. Most important: hematocrit, E2, HDL/LDL.

I'm glad that you haven't had any high E2 symptoms!
