Low fat or low carb?

I agree that every"body" responds uniquely when it comes diet and training. I personally have had the best results, since being in my forties, by consuming a decent balance of both carbs and fat as long as my protein stays in the 1-1.25 grams per lb of bodyweight range. High carb and low fat for me always leaves me looking and feeling flat but once I add some fat back in, my muscles look and feel fuller. The same goes for vice versa (lower carb with higher fats. However, for a some other people that I either know or that I've helped with training and nutrition, get slightly better results with predominantly one or the other. I have no idea why it's like that for me but it is... It was more about either being in a calorie deficit or surplus that dictated fat loss for me as long as my training, activity, and rest levels were all where they needed to be. I'm 48, so close in age to you, Lildawg.

Thank you supermofo!

Depends how fat you currently are..are you insulin sensitive or resistant?

Thank you supermofo!
You're welcome bro. Let us know how it goes. I'm always willing to learn and like trying different diets and training methods to see how I respond. It's more like a journey for me and I like adventure (lower risk at my age though). lol I've been at this for over 30 years and have tried lots of different methods that may have a totally different effect on my body now, in my forties and only weighing 250 ish lbs as opposed to 265-270 lbs like when I was "enhanced" over a decade ago. Lots of different variables that can change the outcomes...
