Using a pulse oximeter I have been checking my.o2 levels and yhey range from 97 down to 88 ... how can I raise this, I don't smoke , and I don't have heart problems that I know of.. confused as to why oxygen is so low... Tia for any advice or comments

is it a medical device or cheap china crap?
specific times it drops low? sleep apnea?

That wide a variation is odd and alarming if accurate. Do you have any underlying condition? Sleep apnea can cause this but typically only during periods of sleep. Recently ill? 97 isn't perfect but hardly cause for concern. 88 definitely is though. When it's reported 88, what were you doing? Previously doing? Taking the measurement the exact same?

make sure your finger is warm and a little bit moist.

Yeah I notice when i stick finger farther up oximeter it reads way better... gonna see how this sleep study goes thursday and narrow down if ny lack of sleep is what the culprit is... think i have sleep apnea

Some use it as a means to gauge recovery. All other things being equal, it should be higher after a couple days of rest than the night after leg day :D

When it’s close to bedtime for you during the week, are you exhausted and crash easily? My weekly bedtime is 99.9% of the time is 9pm. That’s when the lights go off, shower, etc, etc… Before I was diagnosed with sleep apnea I struggled keeping my eyes open by 8-8:30pm every night. When I wore the mask the 1st night I was wide awake at my 9pm bedtime. It was a HUGE difference!!!! Made a extremely noticeable difference in how I felt throughout the day as well. Hope you get things figured out!

Wow man that is great news!!! I have my appt w sleep institute tmrw so I hope the machine doesn't cost that much as I have a 1500 dollar deductible on my insurance.... but I'll spend it cuz I know it will make such a difference! Thanks for feedback man

I’m getting a sleep study done. Where I live you go and pick up the equipment to take home and return it the next day. Years ago you had to sleep in the place, which I can’t imagine ever makes for an accurate assessment of sleep

They still do that.. Just depends on what your insurance is willing to pay for. Mine wouldn’t pay for the in house sleep study at the clinic. It’s cheaper to be sent home with the lil apparatus. I preferred that anyways. Much more comfortable at home then in a strange clinic bedroom.
