Probably a good move for him to go to a top guy. Remember when he went to train with Ben Pakulski about the last 5-6 weeks before the Olympia and Ben had him doing all the slow rep stuff? Dude was poised to win that year then starts training TOTALLY different than what got him there.

I've heard him on podcasts and he seems pretty normal but maybe he needs more a "handler" style coach.

Well IMHO if at his height he can't win the 212 Olympia, what is he going to do in the open class? Truth is hadi would have easily won the 212 title especially after flex left so naturally he is kicking ass in the open. Derek should win the 212 then beef up to open class, if he can't beat 180 pound Clarida then how in the hell is he going to do anything in the open class?

Look at George Peterson, he couldn't win the classic Olympia, he moved to 212 and now is a clear favorite.

Derek will look better with more size, he has the structure to carry it.

If he in 3 attempts he has failed to obtain the title in 212, why waste more time? It's much better to be top 10 in open than to top 3-6 at 212.

Yes Derek as a problem with is weight , but in past you have alot with same problem to get the 212 mark without losing the fullness, you have Correa, even Flex . The biggest problem of Derek is hard work , he needs to put all on is prep ( this is is job ) , he act a little bit like Grimes , both crazy bone structure genetics to win alot of shows but they are not 100% athletes like we ahve in past Dorian and Ronnie and now you have Hunter .

Bonac only have the problem of bone structure and narrow clavicles , but is muscle is so hard and condition that he looks much bigger than he is ( condition like Kai ) . is not pretty ? no . But this is bodybuilding not classic or mens

Oh my mistake, still worse placements than Derek, who won a pro show on his pro debut and top 5 in his first 212 Olympia.

Bonac was 15 in 2014 open Olympia.
