"Mad Dog" Mike Bell, who recently was featured in the film Bigger, Stronger, Faster, has passed away at the age of 37. Mike Bell was the brother of producer Chris Bell, and wrestled primarily in the northeast and on the west coast.

Bigger, Stronger, Faster was a study of steroids in sports, and was produced by Chris Bell. The film focused on his older brother Mike, as aspiring pro wrestler, and his younger brother Mark, who was a world-class power lifter and also did some wrestling.

411 would like to send our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mike Bell.

read this on another site... how sad

R.I.P. MIKE.....I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A KID HE KICKED ME OUT OF A BAR...

makes me sick to hear that.

saw the movie for the first time last week.

i pray for him and his family!

does anybody know the cause?

Cant find any causes listed .I am thinking drugs I heard he recently did a stint in rehab.
My prayers go out to his fam..

very sad to here. after watching the movie you could tell the guy had some inner struggles going on. still sad for his family

This is very sad news. It seemed like he had many personal problems, I hope his death didn't stem from those problems, which were portrayed in the documentary. Our prayers go out to his family.

His Father called it

If you remember in the movie, his Dad actually said/predicted that Mike's wife was going to find him dead someday.

Foubd this on another website page:
The following statement was issued by Chris Bell:

"My older brother Michael aka MAD DOG in the wrestling world, passed away yesterday from unknown causes. He was residing at a sober living place in Orange County and was celebrating 60 days of being clean and sober from any drugs or alcohol. His roommates found him dead in his room at about 2:30pm yesterday and he was pronounced dead on the spot by medical experts. The cause of death is unknown and does not appear to be self inflicted.

My brother was my true hero growing up and I always wanted to be big and strong like him. He was the inspiration for me to make my movie Bigger Stronger Faster* because I saw how the American Dream negatively affected his sense of self worth. I will always remember my brother as the nicest guy in the world that sometimes got caught up in the wrong things. I am so sad right now over his passing. He was on his way to getting his life back on track and he was taken away from us at such a young age. My family thanks everyone who has sent emails and called. It really means a lot.

I Love you Michael.

Your little brother,
Christopher"

Thought it would add to questions on forum. Is he the brother that ate a bunch of pills almost wanting to end it. He talked about it in the movie, they found him down by the river or something?

Yes

He is the one who took the pills and the one who's Dad predicted his early death from his problems.

Damn that is so sad!:( I was just about to go buy the movie today it was really good

Wow, really sad to hear. I saw the movie in theaters and bought it on dvd same day it came out online and have watched it several times through now. Great flick, was really put together really well. Crazy too cus just a few days ago i popped it in and watched the first half. DUring the first 20 minutes with the intro about growing up i shed some tears for whatever reason then next day or same day Mad Dog passes away, crazy. Even though he seemed to have some personal problems he still seemed to have his heart in the right place. Im sure hes in a better place now.

If I'm not mistaken, when they went to get their hearts checked out, he was the one that the doctor told he had a major blockage.

The problem with some of these guys who have major heart problems or pass away that young, is you never see or hear what goes on behind closed doors. Either way, so sorry to hear this, and R.I.P Mad Dog

His roommates found him dead at a sober living place for rehab from drugs etcs.

That is sad news only just watched that the other day myself will have to watch again soon. Best wishes to his family :)

Very sad, really makes you understand what is important in life. Best wishes to the family.

Im interested in knowing if heart problems are what did him in. Im in the same boat now myself. anyone heard or read anything difinitive?

This really is sad to hear. I have a copy of bigger, stronger, faster, and to hear mad dog's father say that he will end up dead one day....and then for it to actually happen is chilling. Im sorry for chris and the whole bell family but Im really sorry for mad dogs wife. The pain she must be going through. I have only best wishes for her and the bell family!
