Magnum and the King....

Just got off the phone with my good friend Magnum...he is in Montreal right now with King Kamali helping him dry out for the show this Sunday. Apparently King overspilled big time last week at the Europa show where he placed 11th.
He called Magnum for help that night for the Montreal show. Magnum says right now King has the look that he had in 2001. If anyone can help him make some final drastic changes in the last week it's Magnum. He has the dry out phase down pat...
I know that King gets alot of tough love in the sport. All I can say is that when I met him he was an extremely nice guy! Top notch as far as I'm concerned. Don't be surprised if Magnum brings him in for a top three finish this weekend. Stay tuned....

Well, unfortunately, his problem is not just conditioning. It's thing he can't change - genetics mainly.

Doesn't he work with Joe McNeil anymore?

Not sure about Joe. According to Magnum Joe helped King get into the best condition possible and things were good...just could not get the last couple of days down.
If King can get back to his 2001 condition and tone down the stomach he can certainly make an impact. The guy can get freaky shredded.

king is a nice guy.. he takes a lot of crap from people.. but, i will be very surprised if he makes the top 5 ..

I doubt if he will make top 10. His problem isn't being dry anymore. It's structural & his belly is out of control. This has nothing to do with being dry or retaining water.

I don't like Shari at all. He got to where he is by hype,starting feuds, fights, disrespecting his fellow BBs & just generally being an asshole hip hop gangsta wannabe. He is getting what he deserves since there is only so far hype will take you. There comes a time where you have to deliver the goods & he just doesn't have anything to deliver.

Update Pics 1 day out

Spoke with Magnum again this AM and he referred me to a post from Lift Studios over at Getbig...update on King's condition. I also asked about Joe McNeil...King is still working with Joe but Magnum to help him dry out for the Montreal since he missed it badly last week. Stay tuned....
Below is the post....

I stopped by to see King about 10:30am Montreal time to see if what I was hearing was true. I spoke with Ron and he said King would be noticably down in weight and looking much better. Bob Chic said that King could make changes in one week on PBW earlier in the week. Jim Magnone made the drive up here to help dry King out. At the Europa Prejudging King weighed 257lbs. As of this morning he is 247 and will step on stage around 243. King's had 5 no carb days straight to help bring him down. King was very polite, had no predictions for this show and was very humble. He knows everyone expects him to do better then he did in Dallas.

I didn't believe that someone could change much in a week. I was proven wrong and Jim has helped King come down in size in 6 days. I know, I know everyone will say if the contest was in his hotel room he'd do good and all that. He still has about 15% more to go but one thing is for sure, everyone will see a different King on stage tomorrow then they did in Dallas.

Again i cant say enough how much i was blown away when speaking with Jim. Speaking with him really showed me how little i actually knew when it came to contest prep. Another amazing thing is he is able to explain everything in simple terms and make them completly understandable. Wish him the best, i agree Kings weaknesses was not ONLY conditioning but also structural... but im sure Jim will present the best King that can be presented!

Hey guys. Having my wife type this for me. It's 7 pm here and just got back from King's room. If anyone saw the pictures of him from this morning, he's about 5% sharper and if all goes well he'll be another 10 to 15% sharper for the prejudging. King really suffered this past week and he is doing everything that I told him to do to a tee. He will be approximately 13 lbs lighter than last week. As far as King's structural flaws, people need to remember that the leaner someone gets the less noticeable they are. I make no predictions but if all goes well, and I expect it to, King's level of conditioning should be the best he's ever achieved to date surpassing even 2001. As far as placings go, I leave that in the judges' hands.

I too like LATS do not know why he gets endlessly bashed on the boards.
He's never been anything but courteous to me and many others who have met him.

AMEN MASSIVE.. any time i have e mailed or talked to him he is nothing but nice.. the crap on some boards gets ridiculous.. he deserves respect..

But he doesn't give respect or treat a lot of his fellow BBS with respect, ie: the Farrah incident. I don't understand why someone can act like a total asshole & then people cry that he deserves respect. He gets what he dishes out. You don't see people bash Ronnie, DJ, Cutler etc jnearly as much as Kamali on the boards. Guess why that is?

Just wanted to say congrats to Magnum once again! King was in the first call out for both rounds and may end up in 4th place.

Mag, I am so happy for you and King! ..I know you are good friends with king and wished he would let you help him. Now he finally has and look how great it is all turning out!

Congrats again Magnum, you are amazing at what you do and an even more amazing friend!

Results.....Magnum does it again!

Just talked to my good friend Magnum again...results are in.
Just when everyone had written off King....King shocked everyone with his conditioning tonight. Word has it that King was described by the judges as being the best conditioned in the show! Congratulations King!

Magnum much props to you my friend! I see this as a big win. This is best placing for King in 5 years.

magnum is to be comended at bringing king in at his best.. but, who actually showed up to the show? he beat wolfe.. but, what is the rest of the top ten.. was it stiff competion or not.. have not seen any reports..

never mind.. found the results.. dillet got tenth.. but, wow .. was his size down.. for a guy who said "i am going to be the biggest freak in this sport again".. he sure didnt bring the goods..

poor king is not getting nay respect from anyone on the other boards again.. milos is having a fit about wolfe being beaten by king.. along with about couple dozen others..lol.. after looking at the photos.. i would say that wolfe had king.. but, i was not there.. and photos can be deceiving..
