Hey guys, I’m posting here because I’m the big picture I’m 100% a beginner. I’m 3 1/2 weeks into my second cycle. It consist of Test/Deca 500/500 for 20 weeks, with var at 50mg ED for the first 6 weeks.

Currently working on dialing in e2 (experimenting with Asin 12.5mg 2 days a week rn). Prolactin seems good so far, but I have p5p on hand.

Anyways, I’m curious as to if anyone has gone through cycles where they kept their weight consistent throughout? I would like to ultimately add size, but I’m starting to feel soft (I think it’s from the deca/test water retention, but it’s definitely messing with me a bit).
 
If the goal is to grow, embrace the softness. If you aren’t having any sore nips or seem extra emotional you should be ok. Another way to combat some, not all, of the water is to clean up your diet and see how you react to certain foods. I’m doing the same oils as you currently but less deca so I know this cycle. The cleaner I eat the better I look and less overall water retention.

Yes recomping is a fairly standard thing: just eat clean high protein and train properly/do some low intensity cardio), but if it's only your second cycle and you're getting too fat. You probably started off with too high of a body fat or eating too dirty/too much, probably the former since it's only been three and a half weeks.

On a test Deca cycle especially with higher body fat levels you should expect to hold some water. When lean the extra water doesn't look nearly as bad.

My wife says when I'm not holding a little extra water that I look like beef jerky "she says it's very disturbing she can't do it" lol. I eat a lot but I eat clean. When I eat dirty I'm intentionally going out of my way to do so.

When growing you only need to eat slightly above maintenance (500-700 cal). Especially as a "beginner".

You work up the calories as you get bigger. Just like you would work up the gear as you get bigger.

Your cycle sounds pretty big/long for a second cycle. In the big picture you would be better off starting smaller just like you would with your food and build up dosages and calories over time.

I honestly wish I listened to advice like this when I was starting out.
