Hello,
This is somewhat off topic but I need some assistance. I need a clever, unexpected, memorable, and relatively romantic way to 'propose' to my girlfriend. I recently moved to Phoenix, AZ. Please help....

in all honesty you should just sit down and think about things she really likes and things that are really special to her.....If it comes from you and is genuine and sincere she will never forget it....If you try to go too GQ Johnny and try wo woo the crap out of her its a little overdone IMO......

To be honest I am not sure......I will take my own advice and sit down and think about it is and plan something low key and cool.....

I had some of our friends show up one night at a tavern we used to go to every Thursday night. I stood on the bar, they turned the music off and handed me the mic. I proposed in front of the whole tavern, and threw that 5.1 carat rock on her finger, pics attached.

i live in this hot shit hole too, many places to go. there is an italian resturant up in north scottsdale, i think off of Via De Ventura and scottsdale road, basically its an italian resturant and you get a ganalo(sp) ride after dinner its real quiet and nice. you can also go up to sedona in the red rock mountains, or take a trip to another country....say Hong Kong and ask her to marry you there while on the beach at sunset...but dont tell her you're copying me.

ps--good luck this summer...you're gonna melt...it sucks here!

It was actually funny. We would go there every week to get our drink on. This particular Thursday I called everyone earlier that week. They started showing up and I was like "wow, it's good to see them", and "I can't believe how many of our friends are here tonight, they're all alcoholics..." lol... you get the idea. Then later in the night the DJ asked me if it was time and I said yes... It went very well actually and I actually didn't make an ass of myself. The next morning we flew out to Aruba for 2 weeks. I was about 275-278 at the time of the engagement so I was not so svelt

I planned mine like this:

I hired a yacht to have dinner on, off shore, where it is one of her favourite views.
I hired a fireworks company that were going to have a boat come close to ours at a certain time, as we were having dinner on the deck, and it was going to write the question in fireworks.

All this was booked and ready for Friday.

On Tuesday morning, she tells me that she dreamt that I proposed to her over water and that when I gave her the ring, she dropped it into water!

I freaked as it took me 8 months to find the diamonds for her ring. It has a big heart shape D in the middle with blue diamonds around it. Only about 5 blue diamonds are found each year in the world, so it took forever to find all the ones that I wanted and for them to be the same size and cut. So it would be a disaster for that ring to be lost!

Anyway, after she told me about her dream, I immediately cancelled the whole thing and that weekend I took her to this cave on the beach in the middle of nowhere where we had our first kiss.

I proposed at the exact same time as we kissed, 3 years after we met to the day.
We got married after 6 years after we met to the day. I figured it's easier to remember just one date LOL

ive got two pretty good ideas, one i got from some jewlery comercial...

we're both italian and always talk about going to italy so believe it or not i still have family in Italy who actaully own some real estate and a resturaunt so id like to take her there go to dinner at my extended fam's resturant which is very near to the Leaning Tower and have her parents and mine there waiting and propose infront of that...

my low budget idea is to get her a cake either for her birthday or something special like that, one of those cakes you can get a picture on, and when she lifts the top box off the cake have a picture of myself on a knee holding the ring and then when she turns around be on a knee behind her with the ring...

my two cents...

For me I waited till her birthday and bought a card with to my fincee on it. When she was opening all her presents and cards in front of everyone she opened my card seen the card with to my fincee she paused and I got down on one knee.
